Wem Special

The Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery were founded around 1870. They were bought by Greenalls in 1952, whose brewing operations were sold to Allied which was later absorbed by Carlsberg. Declared as the best beer in Britain. 1985. This is a rich, smooth beer with a gentle toffee flavour underpined by soft coffee. A firm, but not aggressive carbonation. A well balanced, well made, tasty and pleasing beer.
