From tap at the brewpub as West Bonfire, 4.4. Pours clear and golden brown with a fully gone head. Mild smoked and malty aroma with a light spice note. Mild smoked on the back of the tongue matchin a decent roasted malty base. Bitter and dry finish.

Draft at the brewpub. An amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also with a light note of hops, whilte the flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and light notes of bread. The body is thin. I don’t pick up any smoke - use more, please.

on tap at the brewpub. amber, no head, only the faintest hint of smoke in the aroma, some banana sweetness, slightly metallic, seems a bit over-processed as with the other west beers

Clear headless amber body. Light woody, leathery nose offering dried apricot flavours. Surprisingly well assembled, but ugly to look at. Limited sweetness fits the low hop levels. Soft smoky finish. Sharp and pointy. Hard carbonation feels aggressive. Not very smoky, but balanced in an odd way. It would be hugely bland without the, albeit light, smokiness, but as it is, it feels like one of the best brews I’ve had at West.

Draught at brew pub ... Deep brown ... soft malts ... rich dark fruits onlt a little smokeyness, though this builds in the linger . bit over fizzy.

On draught at the brewpub. Clear copper colour. Vaguely smokey with some maltiness. Big on Co2. Not much of outspoken flavour here. Very subtle in all aspects.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear copper colour. Very vaguely smokey. Sweet with cleran moithfeel and medium body. Some light buttery malt. Low bitterness. Too subtle, and with it’s clean mouthfeel it doesn’t go anywhere really.

Tap, brewpub, RBESG 07. Mucky brown, huge white head that fades. Nose is hoppy, some hazy wheat. Mouth is a bit smoky hop, but nothing really notable. Wheaty. Finishes smoky and slightly sour. Alright, but nothing to write home about.
