Commercial Description:
Cask; Status uncertain.
We have launched a new session bitter, Finchcocks Original, using hops from the Finchcocks hop garden in Goudhurst, Kent. Bill Calcutt is a fourth generation hop grower who has recently bucked the trend of closing hop gardens. He has tied up Ian Ibbotson of Lupofresh in Yalding, Kent to replant Finchcocks with the wonderful aroma hops that real breweries like Westerham demand. Bill's top quality WGV and Early choice hops give a wonderful citrusy and earthy tang to this fully flavoured bitter.

(cask @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Golden in color with a creamy white head. Aroma is malty and light with a slight touch of hops. Flavor was very weak. Some hops and malts but disappeared quickly. Not bad but could’ve used more in the flavor department.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Kent Beer Festival. Clean light brown appearance. Sweet honey nose with some grassy hops. More earthy hoppage in the flavour with some nice nutty notes. Dry dusty finish. Enjoyable.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Amber colour. More malty than hoppy on the nose. Earthy hops come through in the flavour, although the finish is a bit short. A decent low ABV session bitter. Doesn’t have huge depth but that’s not the intention.

Cask@The Rake, Borough, London. Quite earthy and is balanced between hop and malt characters, some almost woody/grainy notes and then leafy, earthy hops. Its a bit too weak though, finishes slightly watery.
