cexshun (57), Portage, Indiana, USA May 10, 2009 Humble nose or yeast, alcohol and dark cherries. Dark brown in color with tan creamy head. No lacing at all. Flavors of coffee, roasted malt, and a surprising dark cherry finish that caught me off guard. Oddly reminds me of Dr. Pepper. Medium body in the mouth with a crisp finish. Overall, a good beer. Doesn’t excite me to try other Abbey Dubbels and isn’t quite the stand out. Would like it a little maltier. wkalle (110), Sweden May 9, 2009 Pours dark brown red with large fizzy head which gently settles into a dense almost golden head. Not much lacing though. Taste is a miss for me. I want the malt to be able to challenge the yeast on my pallet, but this one is yeast, then malt, and slight funkiness.
Flavor is slightly metallic.
