Caramel malt aroma. Sharp hop bite up front with rich malt finish. Not much of an after taste. Low esters. Having had this brew in the café outside the abbey years ago, I was looking forward to having this again. This bottle had a lot to live up to. Sadly it could not compete against that chalice in Westmalle. donfardz64 (407), Wellington, New Zealand

Aroma is quite ’dark’ with dark fruits, caramel and slight spices.
Taste is full of prune & raisin notes. Roast malt shows through and spices, caramel come with it. Medium bitterness, dry finish. Very nice. hayduke (1629), Eureka, California, USA
