Jan 13, 2009 Another GREAT trappist beer. One of my favorite Belgians. The Westmalle line of beers in my opinion are the best of the trappist. The dubbel is the best of the Westmalle. A must try beer...don’t buy just one...you will want more.

Jan 12, 2009 Brown pour with an amber head. Caramel aroma with molasses as well. Taste is heavy malt with a chewy mouthfeel.

Jan 10, 2009 Nice dirty river water with a tight cream colored head. Aroma is caramel, brown sugar, and buttermilk biscuit. Flavor shows some honey, cherry skin, and malt. Quite tasty and regularly available. Nice trappist example.

Jan 9, 2009 Pours a very nice burgnudy color with a white forming head. Smell the wonderful ruit and malt. Great taste, great aroma, great brew. Need I say more. This one speaks for its self.

Jan 8, 2009 Complex aroma - leathery yeast, milk chocolate, roast malt, a sweet hoppiness.
Flavours are great but seem a little watered down. Chocolaty, mild coffee malt. Sweetness of dates, raisin and caramelised banana. Kind of peppery.
Nice yeast and hops. A slight bitterness back up the sweetness. Awesome.

Jan 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy brown with a one finger dense cream head and splotchy lacing. Nose is brown sugar, sweet dark fruits and yeast. Taste is caramel, brown sugar, dates, plums and alcohol. Creamy mouth feel. Good Dubbel.

Jan 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours reddish brown into a Westmalle glass. Nice thick head. Aroma is complex although not very strong. Fruit, sugar, yeast, malty bread etc. Tastes sweet, a lot of caramel and chocolate. Small tartness in the aftertaste. Really smooth and well balanced beer. Almost a little too clean. I think this beer would’ve gained from being a little more funky.

Jan 7, 2009 Dégusté dans un verre de westmalle. Bière brun foncé avec reflet rougeâtre, une bonne mousse et des dépôt de levure en suspension.Senteur de banane, lait de poule, tarte au pomme et poire, vanille et levure fraiche. Goût d’houblon et de levure, un twist de vanille avec une finition sec et fruité de fruit séché: raisin et date. Ronde en bouche, alcool sur les gencives , wow!!! super!
