MaltOMeal (642), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Dec 28, 2008 11.2oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a nice tan head. Nose is funky with some fruit and raisin. Taste is of brown sugar with some vinous fruit. Mouthfeel is thin and very carbonated with a dry finish. So so. joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 27, 2008 Pours a chestnut brown with a smallish white head. Aroma of caramel malt, and some light hops, hints of pine. Taste is caramel malt, with some spices, and a light sweetness. trevor211 (499), Seattle, Washington, USA Dec 26, 2008 Pours a deep murky brown with a thick, fizzy head. Aroma is remarkably similar to a quad. Dark fruits, baking spices - cloves and allspice, sweet malts and brown sugar. It has a great sweetness in the flavor, masking the alcohol very well. Perfect carbonation - enough to cleanse, but no more. Mild, but still very flavorful - this is great stuff when youre not in the mood for more of a palate bomb. MrChopin (620), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 26, 2008 Murky brown with off-white head. Raisins, burnt sugar, plum, alcohol. Fairly weak palate, too sprtizy yet short finish. Overall decent, but I think overrated.

I tried this beer on October 27, 2008 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a slightly translucent reddish-brown with a huge tan coloured rocky head that lasted quite a while. The aroma was floral hops, caramel malts, and some yeast tones. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, with mild carbonation. The flavour is malty with some sweet fruit tones (plums, apples) and a little yeast. wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Dec 23, 2008 $5.99 bottle
Unusual sharp bitterness. Dark amber color. Like an orange peel, or bitter nut shell. A bit medicinal. Best by 8/30/2009. Possibly a hint of grapefruit sourness. Aroma is nice and malty. Big mixed bubble head that fades slowly. A hint of skunk. bonfunck (149), Waasmunster, Belgium Dec 21, 2008 33cl bottle, Dark red amber with solid foam head. minimum sweetness good balanced between sweet and bitterness OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA Dec 20, 2008 Updated: Jan 6, 2009Not too impressed with this beer. Brown in color with an offwhite head. Sour taste with not too pleasant of a finish. I dont see why this beer is rated so high. This is nothing to write home about.
