OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA Dec 20, 2008 Updated: Jan 6, 2009Not too impressed with this beer. Brown in color with an offwhite head. Sour taste with not too pleasant of a finish. I dont see why this beer is rated so high. This is nothing to write home about. chops (60), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Dec 19, 2008 330ml bottle from the lcbo. served at room temperature. dark / cloudy pour with a light head. i wasnt that impressed, but not a terrible beer. chimpscampee (556), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Dec 19, 2008 Similar to some of my all time favorite dubbels but with even more emphasis on the dark berries. creamy with perfect carbonation amount. ample but not overspilling the bottle when you opwn it. jrob21 (1251), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Dec 11, 2008 Pours brown with big tan head. Aroma is tasty toasted wheat bread. Slightly fruity flavor with some cherry and plum. Finish is a little bitter and hoppy. Creamy texture and a malt profile that has some caramel and toasted grain. All together a medium sweetness. foosnbrews (33), Parker, Colorado, USA Dec 7, 2008 Beer pours dark with a slight white head. Aroma is spicy with raisin coming forward. Flavor continues with raisin flavor and slight sour presesnce. Very apparent alchol taste follows through the swallow. Beer finishes very clean leaving nothing behind. Overall beer is good. barleynhops (82), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Dec 7, 2008 Pours a dark chocolate brown with a high tan head. Smells like coffee, but tastes like caramel and fruits; especially raisins. The alcohol still shines through, but the malts and fuit tastes masks well. Pyrozoid (352), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Dec 6, 2008 Bouteille de 33 cl. Biere de couleur brune fonce avec un bon collet collant. Odeur de ble ou fouin, sucre, dattes et fruits. Gout tres fruite, sucre, epices, dattes. EFC1878 (291), Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Dec 1, 2008 Bottle from Sand Bar, Manchester. Muddy brown colour, hints of red at the edges, and a frothy tan head that lasts throughout. Aroma of rich fruits - dried fig and date, raisins and plum. Fruit predominates the flavour with molasses/muscovado added. Sour undertones complement the sweetness. Lightly carbonated and surprisingly light in palate. Lovely.
