11.2 fl. oz. bottle in a chalice. Pours very dark amber, nearly brown, with a light tan, almost eggshell, head. No lacing and the head dissipates quicker than expected. Aroma is floral and fruity, like apple blossoms and pears, with subtle malts, cloves, and alcohol. Flavor is mellow fruit and caramel. Palate is thinner than expected and highly carbonated. Overall, an excellent Trappist.

Trappist Ale. You can definitely taste the alcohol in this one. Taste is fruity and caramely. Not my favorite Trappist ale, but a great ale nonetheless.

11.2oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a nice tan head. Nose is funky with some fruit and raisin. Taste is of brown sugar with some vinous fruit. Mouthfeel is thin and very carbonated with a dry finish. So so.

Pours a chestnut brown with a smallish white head. Aroma of caramel malt, and some light hops, hints of pine. Taste is caramel malt, with some spices, and a light sweetness.

Pours a deep murky brown with a thick, fizzy head. Aroma is remarkably similar to a quad. Dark fruits, baking spices - cloves and allspice, sweet malts and brown sugar. It has a great sweetness in the flavor, masking the alcohol very well. Perfect carbonation - enough to cleanse, but no more. Mild, but still very flavorful - this is great stuff when youre not in the mood for more of a palate bomb.

Murky brown with off-white head. Raisins, burnt sugar, plum, alcohol. Fairly weak palate, too sprtizy yet short finish. Overall decent, but I think overrated.

I tried this beer on October 27, 2008 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a slightly translucent reddish-brown with a huge tan coloured rocky head that lasted quite a while. The aroma was floral hops, caramel malts, and some yeast tones. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, with mild carbonation. The flavour is malty with some sweet fruit tones (plums, apples) and a little yeast.
