Pours very dark amber, nearly brown, with a light tan, almost eggshell, head. No lacing and the head dissipates quicker than expected. Aroma is floral and fruity, like apple blossoms and pears, with subtle malts, cloves, and alcohol. Flavor is mellow fruit and caramel. Palate is thinner than expected and highly carbonated. Overall, an excellent Trappist. dnoaksson (165), , Sweden

You can definitely taste the alcohol in this one. Taste is fruity and caramely. Not my favorite Trappist ale, but a great ale nonetheless. MaltOMeal (653), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Pours a deep murky brown with a thick, fizzy head. Aroma is remarkably similar to a quad. Dark fruits, baking spices - cloves and allspice, sweet malts and brown sugar. It has a great sweetness in the flavor, masking the alcohol very well. Perfect carbonation - enough to cleanse, but no more. Mild, but still very flavorful - this is great stuff when youre not in the mood for more of a palate bomb. I tried this beer on October 27, 2008 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a slightly translucent reddish-brown with a huge tan coloured rocky head that lasted quite a while. The aroma was floral hops, caramel malts, and some yeast tones. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, with mild carbonation. The flavour is malty with some sweet fruit tones (plums, apples) and a little yeast.
