Aroma is quite complex, having some various dark and sweet fruits, a slightly medicinal component, and some dark sugar. Flavor is also quite complex, with the sweet-bready malty flavors dominating, but also a touch of wine. Creamy mouthfeel for such a style. Spicy and interesting yeast flavors in the finish. Medium bodied. I tried it both before and after I swirled and poured the yeast. The yeast added a bit of nuttiness and sharpness to the finish. Incredible lacing, this is an attractive beer, and a very nice one all around. Unique. charlotte (2036), Vanløse, Denmark

This Trappist brew poured a very hazy coffee brown with a slight reddish tint. Head was light tan, thin, and creamy.....some lacing. Aroma was of toffee, raisins, and other dark fruits. As the beer sat, cherry aroma’s became more predominant. Medium in body and some what sweet. Another great brew from the Monks! cbkschubert (2020), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Has a spicey, fruity aroma. The flavor is fruity and tad bit tart. Not much yeast in this one, which is nice. Medium to full body. I’m sorry. As hard as I may try, I can not get into these Belgium beers. Just too fruity. Worth a try though. Thanks Steve. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
