Nice solid head quickly disspates with no lacing. Thick toasty caramel. Shows a beautiful red when held to the light. Lightly sweet with a slight sour taste. Quite fizzy with an abrupt finish. Finish is dirty and bitter. Reminds me of home brew brewed with liquid malt extract. The finish is just a bit too odd for me. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA

It looked good pouring, deep chestnut brown with an ample tan head. The aroma was raisins, currents, malt. The flavor disappointed. Slightly medicinal. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Tastes are sweet with a tingly carbonation, caramel, prunes, and a yeasty spiciness. JCB (1792), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 5, 2007 My goodness this is one bad-ass dubbel. Deep amber with a moderate head, it’s got a big bready aroma. But what really kills is the combo of the lively mouthfeel - vibrant like a nice blond or tripel - with a deep, complex aroma that combines perky fruits like plums with a nice bite from coriander or cloves. Some might dock this beer because it’s just a shade thin for a dubbel, but I actually think that works in its favor. pilsnerrogge (1792), Finspång, Sweden
