| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Aroma of dark, cherryish, fruit. Rich mahogany color, with tiny bubbles and a decent beige head. Thin to medium bodied with moderate, nigh creamy, carbonation. The flavor is light reddish berry and roasted malt. Also raisin and lighter stone fruits. Mouthsmackingly good. The finish tends toward dry, and there is a fruity, dark fruity, coating. Very refreshing. Especially after the Rocheforte 10. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA

Aroma has peaches, cinnamon, bubblegum, alcohol and a little yeast. Decent lacing. The alcohol is present in the flavor with some apple and lemon tartness. A little saltiness came through. Finishes with pepper and some deep port wine. I didn’t notice the sweetness that others had. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 23, 2004 Aroma includes bread, orange-citrus, dark pit fruits, notes of alcohol. Opaque dark orange-brown with huge, pillowy tan head that lasts nicely and recedes to cover with no lacing. Initially sweet, joined by dough-like yeast flavours and round dark fruit flavours with a nice balancing earthy bitterness. Bittersweet chocolate and a touch of alcohol in the finish. Soft in the mouth with gentle but effervescent fine-bubbled carbonation. Very enjoyable. Bottle. BBB63 (4267), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 6, 2006 Bottle served in my St. Bernardus glassware: Poured a medium brown hue with an initial large fizzy head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of fig, dried date, apple, cardamom, bubblegum, and earthy esters. The taste follows suit with a lot of fruity characteristics on top of a rich malt base a just a hint of mild spice. A little bit of tartness pops in and out as well. The feel is smooth and medium-bodied that is very much a drinking pleasure. One solid beer for sure and glad to have finally thought about rating it after all this time. cgarvieuk (4212), Edinburgh, Scotland
