Pours a very nice burgnudy color with a white forming head. Smell the wonderful ruit and malt. Great taste, great aroma, great brew. Need I say more. This one speaks for its self.

33cl bottle. This is a magic beer. First you get loads of dark fruits, followed by wonderful caramel tones and then a nice background bitterness. What a wonderful brew. One of my definite favourites.

33cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (FL). Pours a dark chocolate brown with a thin tan head. In the nose, the beer smells slightly sweet, caramel, hints of toffee, inviting aroma. Flavor: sweet, malty, smooth, hints of spices and herbs with a very slight sour/sweet finish. Tastes faintly of barley on subsequent sips. Nice dubbel.

Quite yeasty first aroma when I cracked open the 12 oz bottle. In tulip glass boasts a one finger plush beige head on top of an unfiltered brown beer with amber hue. Aroma of dark malt and sour apple. Flavors of plum stone and mineral pucker with caramel nose. Body is moderate, hop presence not detectable (but must be because there is balance), carbonation is subdued, and there’s a dryness in finish. Consistent and complex. Body thins, malts sweeten and finish dries as it warms.

Definitely one of my favorite belgian ales, was happy to find some of these that were older (already aged) at my local liquor store. Both the more recent brew and the 2001 offering, were awesome.Flavor is better than the westmalle tripel.

Refigerated bottle served in a trappist glass. Dark brown with nice beige head that lingers and nice lacing. The taste is complex, dark fruit with nice spice. Best double that I have had.
