Bottle – Poured a red/brown quite opaque brew with a huge head with standard retention. Great carbonation with strong body. Aroma is very spicy with no alcohol noticeable. Taste is great with the usual Belgian style mix of malts and hops with some added roastiness to that one. The spice mix is a bit stronger then expected but overall very enjoyable. Overall, this is a good beer but I was expecting something greater from this well known Trappist. Re-rate 2008: Creamy texture, no alcohol, bubblegum-like taste. Very well balance from a very fresh bottle. Wow

Poured an appetizing red-tinged brown, with a moderate off-white head. Aroma was predominately malty, with excellent fruit notes of plum and dark cherry, and a lingering note of perfume. The malty sweetness presented itself up front in the flavor, being sweet and fruity, and trailing off to a noticeable alcohol burn in the finish. Mouthfeel was nicely creamy and full, entirely appropriate for the flavors. Excellent.

pours breown with copper highlights fluffy head that fades to a thick lace. aromas of nuts, sweet malt, plums, figs cookie dough, yeast, faint orange. moderate body starting sweet with caromel and fruitness light cherry flavor, syrup balnced by orangy hops. orange lingers and slowly fades. hints at syrupy sweetness but well balanced with a fruity hop making a fruity beer to sit and think about.

Super dark and murky, medium head, some sedment lays on top of the head like cinnamon. Faint smell of bananas. Kind of a subtle fruity taste. Que delicioso

Hazy brown. This is a complex, smooth, full flavored brew. Rich thick palate. Nice sweet and fruity flavor.... i think i tasted some rasberries. Those monks know whats up.

Dark brown with huge head...flavour of chocolate, banana, figs, and malts. Not too sweet nor sour, not much alcohol presence yet satisfyingly full. Yet another great trappist.

Dark, cloudy brown pour with an almost tan head that fades quickly. Aroma is of sweet malty bananas and yeast. Fruit, sugar and maybe even a little chocolate make up the flavors. Great carbonation and mouth feel.

Pours ruby with mostly receding tan head. Aroma of caramel, raisins, bubble gum and tropical fruits. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with lush carbonation. A very nice and elegant beer.
