| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 16, 2003 Dark red amber with a yeasty aroma. Roast malt and caramel notes, and a high-rise, fairly tenacious head that follows the beer to the end of the glass. The taste is also richly malty and zesty towards the finish with a touch of burnt sugar bitterness. JFGrind (1360), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA

Westmalle Dubbel did not disappoint. Aroma was evident immeadiately after cracking the cap off. Poured nice into a goblet with a thick head. Beer had a consistant strong, yet smooth taste. An amber orange color. Quite dry. Noted the darker fruits including cherries. A dry finish with flavors of hazelnut and toast. BrotherJoe (12), Iowa, USA

The head stays forever and the beer is excellently carbonated. Aroma is filled with spice. Taste has a great spice to it that starts kind of sweet and goes down very smooth. I think i got hints of apple in the taste too. Very good trappist.
