A bit high in ABV but you can hardly taste it amongst the spicy and fruity notes. Aroma of dry fruit and grass. Mouthfeel is slightly unusual and leaves a persistent flavour of alcohol in my mouth. Overall, a great trappist. Russo (595), Campinas, Brazil
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2009 Bottled. Clear Amber color (orangy), with a nice white head that persist for a long time, actually until the finish. Aroma is fruity and sweety, somne honey, pineapple and malty notes. Flavor is sweet citrus with a medium carbonation, alcohol is perceptible. Mouthfeel is spicy and dry but take a long time to do. Cybercat (797), Georgia, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Color is a hazy amber, not impressive - but the thick, white, rather persistent head promises a great ale. Strong aroma is creamy, fruity, malty, and slightly sweet. Flavor is crisp, fruity, malty, very satisfying, not overly complex but rather mouth-filling. Texture is smooth but edgy, and leaves a fruity and slightly hoppy aftertaste. It does have quite a bite to it, so beware - it ain’t for sissies! joeyplush (337), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Pours a yellow-gold color with a foamy white head and good lacing. Aroma of honey, caramelized bananas, and some grassy hops. Taste/palate is highly carbonated, with sweetness and honey flavors, balanced with a light citrus bitterness. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 2, 2009 A - Pours a cloudy yellowish color, nice carbonation which produces a nice small foamy white head, some lacing afterwards.
S - Scents of malts, spices, grapes, bannanas, and yeast.
T - The taste is kinda sweet and malty, carbonated, nice clean finish.
M - Medium body, pretty complex brew.
D - Drinkable. This is a nice tripel, but I like the dubbel much better. Axargo (1), , Belgium does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Dec 26, 2008 This is one of the most underrated beers here.
It is a verry much imitated beer , but no other brewery can create the same flavor . For me it is the best beer in the world , and i have tasted a lot . Grizzle (46), Lawrence, Kansas, USA

Shared with brother in honor of the celebration for Christ apostrophe s birth. His description appears below mine, semi colon, read Harsebrau apostrophe s description. One thing I would note is that the missing descriptive taste is maybe not caramel. I would say perhaps instead it is a yeast based flavor. Harsebrau (164), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Pours a cloudy, peach/apricot syrup color. Denser in the middle. Highly carbonated. Fizzy white head that left decent lacing on my glass. Sweet aroma - apple, icewine, pear, cream-cicke. Has a sour approach, mid-sweetness and fizzbomb effect. At the swallow something lingers...caramel? Hops are present as well. I like.
