Banana, clove and a sweet finish. A bit of a bitter bite towards the end of the sip. Spicey, yeasty aroma reminds you you are drinking a belgian beer. Pretty remarkable this is the first time I have gotten to this one. Pretty well rounded and complex beer. sdriessen (208), Dunedin, New Zealand

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Cloudy golden with a thick, lasting head. A little skunky out of the bottle, but after it sat for a minute or so it smelled more spicy than skunky. Banana and yeast in the nose, with the spicy note. Flavor is almost that of a saison, with a musty, fruity dryness. An interesting beer, and not what I expected. A little light for a tripel. Alcohol is well-hidden, however.
