Pours a hazy pale golden yellow with sky-high, frothy white head with great retention and generous lacing. Beautiful beer!
Citrusy aroma with yeast and herbal spices on the nose.
Medium-bodied triple with heavy, but earthy mouth feel. Active carbonation.
Taste is dry indeed, with banana, yeast, herbal spices and a bitter alcoholic note dominating. Finish is dry, with a noticeable alcoholic after taste (at 9.5 %, this is hardly surprising).
A welcome departure from the many overly sweet Belgian tripels I’ve drunk (Grimbergen, Kasteel, etc), this one is for grown-ups only! ;=) I won’t drink a great number of these, but they’re characterful, individual and imaginative. Very good Belgian beer! walrussell (116), , Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 5, 2009 Weird tasting. Minty dry bitterness with a plasticy undertone. I was really disappointed. For a little bit I thought it was lightly refreshing, but the flavor got more and more unfortunate to me. daleharshman (192), San Diego, California, USA

Pours into Chimay goblet a golden honey amber with generous white head composed of very tiny bubbles. Aroma of spice, yeast, banana. Taste is lightly sweet and very dry with flavors of yeast, spice, banana, and citrus. Finish is also very dry with noticeable alcohol. Good, but not as good as I might have thought considering the source. But then, I wasn’t very impressed with the Westmalle dubbel either. branspra (222), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a very large, frothy white head. The head is ridiculous. Aromas of bananas, toasted malts, wheat, and light citrus. Extremely lively palate to start with a creamy, tart finish. Flavors of bananas, wheat, and light pine. Good beer. hero12 (61), USA

Fruity nose, same taste, finishes with a little spice and very strong. Very good beer overall, definitely recommending to friends. Macadem (102), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada

Has a nice fruitiness to it, bananas, red berries and black licorice on the nose. Has a very delicate taste and foamy mouthfeel. fsbw21086 (78), New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2009 Citrusy, strong, spicy. Very good beer with complex stages. First thing that hits you is high carbonation and citrus followed by spices and a dry finish. Little peppery to the nose with hints of grapefruit. Aftertaste is more spices. Very good tripel.

Strong taste. I’m more a Dubbel fan and I always need to get used to the Tripel taste. This one was great. Had two bottles. Will try this one again and I hope that it wil taste even better that time. Good beer.
