A little too much alcohol in the finish for me, but a wonderful aroma and dry and spicy upfront with a nice spicy undertone.

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Clear golden tripel with a nice foamy long-lasting head. Aroma is very spicy and sweet. Taste is very very nice of the malts and the hops, with a little bitterness to top it off. Palate is just awesomely refined. Overall one hell of a holy beer! Vaiz (89), Netherlands
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Pours a hazy blonde yellow with a thick, foamy head. Intense spicy aroma of citrus rasp, coriander and even some mint. Flavor is complex, sharp and full and has a bitter hoppyness on top of a spicy body. Although it is a remarkable beer and definitely good, it is a bit too sharp and spicy for my personal taste. Good palate feel, with lots of carbonated creamy roundness that makes this gulp down easily. Very nice dry bitter finish. KnN (738), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA

Aroma is "belgian" with some citrus and malt notes. Really crisp body with some nice fruity spicy hints. Very good Belgian. davisnmn (3), Connecticut, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 1, 2009 Westmalle’s triple is an OK Belgian triple with an aroma that to smells of bailed hey. The appearance is certainly consistent with the style but i did find the taste to be a little lacking. As for the yeast... absolutely barnyard. I was not going to say it, but when i saw it as a suggestion under the yeast heading here on rate beer i thought wow, that is very accurate. mcberko (152), British Columbia, Canada
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 29, 2009 330mL bottle pours a hazy golden yellow with a huge white head that dissipates slowly. Citrus, sweet malts and banana on the nose; flavour is citrus, banana, spice and a yeasty finish. One of the best tripels I’ve had. ricke (240), Malme, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 28, 2009 Serving date: 2009-03-01. Served in snifter.
330 ml bottle with the Trappist collar around the neck. Freshness date (best before 2010-06-30) and glassware recommendations printed on the label.
The pour is orange colored with a two finger ivory-colored sparkling head that settles after a short while but leaves a nice coat of foam.
Pleasant sweet fruit esters (apricots). Earth and dry hay. Pepper, yeast and a gentle sting from the alcohol. The smell is somewhat reminiscent of white wine - very nice.
All in all a rather crisp taste with decent amounts of malts. Plenty of fruits - apricots, some banana, citric notes mostly in the form of lemon, and a vague taste of grapes that strengthens the resemblance of white wine I got from the smell. Rustic honey flavors. Big taste of peppery alcohol and spices. Subdued flavors of earthy yeast. The finish is rather bitter, more so than expected, and has a bold spicy alcohol character that seems to linger on forever.
Medium body that feels a bit sharp due to generous amounts of carbonation that feels very lively in the mouth.
A very good beer and as most Trappist beers, it showcases a very well balanced complexity. The alcohol is perhaps just a little too present, though.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Hazy bright orange coloured with a dense white head on top. Aroma is heavy malt and extreme esters. Flavour is intensely estery with strong alcohol notes, especially in the somewhat dry and very fruity finish. Body holds a very lively carbonation typical for the style, dangerously easy to drink. Fratto (728), Arlington, Texas, USA
