Very similar to Westmalle tripel but that is not really surprising as they share the same yeast. A nice mild bitterness in the mouth that lasts a long time. Also in the taste I find similarities with Westmalle tripel. More than excellent beer. Even more, I like this one more than the 12! CamdenD (606), Madrid, Spain

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Pours a beautiful hazy golden straw with a two finger fluffy white head. Retention and lacing are very good. Smell is earthy with lots of spices and a strong citrus hop presence, mainly lemons. There is also a slightly sweet bready malt undertone to the aroma. Taste pops with the lemon up front which gives way to the sweet wheat flavor before finishing with a very crisp light finish. There is a spiciness that remains throughout. The mouthfeel is medium to light bodied and seriously crisp. Drinkability is great with this one and I could drink this all day and night on a hot summer day. ogivlado (3070), Zagreb, Croatia

Hazy golden/yellow coloured, medium to big white head, pleasant light fruity spicy nose. Malty, very yeasty and light fruity taste with notes of herbs and spices and rather bitter finish. Quite unusual blond but to be honest, I’ve expected (much) better from Westvleteren. heavy (835), Split, Croatia
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 10, 2008 07/06 0.33 l bottle from belgianshop.com. Poured murky golden body with big white head. Somehow salty aroma, with yeast in form of orange in the background. Flavor is better, but still not what I want and used to, strange bitterness, even could be related to cardboard, with malty fruitiness only acting the background. Slightly thin bodied as well. Still, it had pretty long, bitterish finish. Don’t get why this is the most expensive of the 3 active Westies, besides I had many much better blonds. Ober (1200), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands

The aroma is nice bitter with some fruity tones. The taste is very nice bitter with tones of grapes in the back. A very good refreshing beer. I think maybe a littlle underrated in opposition of the 8 and 12 of Westvleteren. BuckeyeSammy (455), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Sweet, yeasty aroma. What surprised me was the carbonation in the middle of my palate as oposed to right up front. Slightly thin mouthfeel, dosent take away from the beer in the least. Light, floral, sweet, crisp and refreshing, hops present on the back end. The ultimate blonde. Wow. undsioux7 (559), Cologne, Minnesota, USA

Aroma of belgian yeast, spice, lemon, orange rind and a bit of woody cellar. The taste is just like the aroma. Everything mixes so well with nothing overwelming. Its a bit thin, but I thank that is why i like it even more. Reminds me of calabaza blanca that way.
