| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 22, 2008 The month on the bottle cap has worn off, but it was produced on the 29th of some month in 2001, making this one 7 years old. Aroma is very light, with mostly orange and lemon notes with a good deal of bread. Head is lacking. Predominately orange in spice in the flavor, with a slight flowery background. Surprisingly a good amount of hops in this one. So to sum up this rating in two words: orange rind. Orange as it’s the predominate flavor, and rind because of the lighter, hoppier, more citrus-bite characteristic of this one. This is undoubtedly a great beer, and would love to rate a much fresher one at some point. daknole (3027), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 21, 2008 This is an outstanding blond. I ordered from Belgium and I am glad I did. Not as good as its big brothers, but very good anyway. Cloudy color, with a nice foamy head. Citrus and yeast notes on the palate. Good fruit flavors and a tiny bit of hops to balance. Yum! armando629 (1010), Budapest, Hungary
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 21, 2008 I’ve a bit of luck, i could taste the beers of Abdij St. Sixtus...Hazy golden color under a delisicious foamy white head... In the glass of the abbey... Beautiful appearance. In the aroma are some spice, fruity citrus perfume with a bit of hop. The texture of the beer is complex with a strong hop taste, a thick body with spicey aromas. Nice mouthfeel. And this is the easiest beer of the monks... jzzbassman (850), New Albany, Mississippi, USA

Aroma is subtle but pleasing, citrus and fresh green grass. Very easy drinking with a soft herbal note, with fresh bread and hint of lemon and pear. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA

It tasted like manure and hay. I will rerate once I get ahold of a good bottle. akevitt (97), Valhalla, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Thanks to Yesper, JK, hellomynameis. The beer was cloudy gold with a moderate amount of head. I got spices, honey, grains, and fruit in the aroma. The flavor was sweet, grainy, and hoppy. It had a mild hop finish. dutch23mp (170), Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 15, 2008 A wonderful birthday treat for me sent from a friend from Belgium. Enjoyed in the Westvleteren glass he sent as well. Waited to get this at the right temperature high marks for the aroma as well as appearance. Not as flavorful as the other Westvleteren beers more of the citrus taste comes through on this wonderful brew. Such a pity one can not get this or any of the Westvleteren brews easily, perhaps that is the charm. They rank as my favorites. Happy birthday to me.
