Light spices and a definite earthy flavor. You can pick out the yeasty Westy flavor profile in a second. Spices don’t overpower this one, and it is very refreshing. yespr (12173), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 5, 2007 33 cL bottle. Pours almost white/clear but becomes slightly yellow. Clear fruity aroma with yeast elements. Carbonation as well. Almost no sweetness, has fruit notes, slightly nutty as well. Yeast and citric notes are dominating. Reminded me of Orval without being too similar. Aftertaste is suprisingly bitter, yet not overly dominating. yngwie (4970), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2007 Updated: Jun 29, 2008Bottled. Rating #1500. Ok, so it’s not the best beer to drink celebrating, but it is a quite good one. Pours unclear, with a lot of carbonation and cloudyness in a pale golden body, topped by a nice, creamy, white head. The aroma is fruity, with hops, medicine-like bitter notes, hints of cellar, spices, yellow apples and some alcohol. Quite complex actually, but yet not one of the best. The same goes for the flavor, which is fruity and sweet, with bitterness, spices, yeast and a dash of alcohol. Medium body and a finish with spices and hops. Funny thinking about the fact that this is the least interesting beer from this brewery, yet so good. Rating: 7-4-7-3-14-3.5. (070103)
Bottle. It pours a hazy, yellow-orange body with some floaties and a nice, white head. Grains, pale malt, fruityness and yeast it the aroma. A little spicy note too. Nice sweet and malty flavor with some alcohol notes and a pleasant bitterness. Some herbal notes too. Medium to full body. Bitter, malty and slightly spiced finish. Wondering if I over-rated the beer last time, I did a rerate and found out I didn’t. It really is a good beer. Rating unaltered. (080509) bu11zeye (5470), Frisco, Texas, USA
