Light golded colored pour with a little haze. A yeasty, flowery aroma with a slight sweet, bitter finish. Pretty good.

Poured a blonde amber but a bit hazy with sedement, also had a white bubbly carbonated head. Sweet spicy hoppy like aroma. Flavor was sweet and hoppy metallic grass, did get spicier as it warmed.

Standard Belgian blond in appearance. Slightly more haze than expected and a persistent thin head. Expressive nose of confectionary malts shows ok lift. Palate is more understated, the typical sweetish malts are present but they don’t really get out of first gear. In fact the palate is quite dry for the style and is well backed with a little spice and cinnamon. Thinking man’s Belgian blond? (e.3.75 @ Afspanning ’t Waagstuk)

also very good has the feeling like Leffe but better, also cheaper then the others and not so heave alcohol ... , nice if you dont want to get drunk

SLightly hazy pale yellow/straw liquid sits underneath a bed of frothy white foam. Lemony/citrus aromas give way to subtle spices, mixed with grassy/hay nuances. Very soft and pleasant. Very fruity lemon zest and other citrus flavours. Herbal, with mild bitter hopping, and a touch of mint leaf/fresh grass. Good, and again subtle. Very refreshing lemon/mineral finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Thanks for sharing this rare treat Mr. Horsey!

From a distinctive no labels Westvletern 33 cl. brown bottle with the freshness date on the cap, 11.08.07, sampled at cellar temperature in a Westy chalice a friend gave me last Christmas. Poured a hazy pale orangey golden with a foamy white head, a small amount of laced sticking. Aromas of herbal hops, a bit leafy as well and a subtle honey maltiness in the background. Good even carbonation and a softly crisp, textured, velvety smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel, superb. A great tasting blond ale, herbal hops with a touch of tobacco dry leafiness, soft bitterness, a sweet honey grain maltiness that cuts underneath the hops and a dry grainy finish with a lingering herbalness. An excellent blond ale, easy drinkability, very glad I finally had a chance to try it, well worth it.

drank at In de Verde: Aroma is very spicy with some hops, and pepper. lovely blondish orange color. flavor is herbal, with hops, and some grass. fruity, but spicy. Very nice dry finish. Like all Westvleteren beers, the perfect amount of hops. perfect palate again. I love these beers. Cheers.

Thank you Belgian shop for sending me this. Very good, but quite a straight forward ale, all things considered. Pours a gorgeous almost opaque orange. Fruity spicy esters and hops. Medium bodied with a dry, almost overly dry finish. Very good ale.
