Appears a light yellow with a small white head that fades into a mild cap and thin collar. Streaks of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of light fruit, mild yeast, white bread, light caramel malt with some pilsner-esque aromas, along with an tiny herbal spiceyness.
Taste is of the above mentioned aromas...perhaps a slight drop from the anticipated flavor not quite living up to the smell.
Mouthfeel is crisp, dry, with a very subdued sugar taste in the swallow. Theis (3793), Denmark

Vi er uden i noget som absolut ikke smager mig. Kedelig sprøjt.
Sød og gæret, tisgul i farven.
Jeg har lovet Rene at give det en chance, men der er dog grænser.
Men den gode stemning breder sig om bordet....... ¾ (5009), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 14, 2006 Delerium Care, Brussels, May 2006. Cloudy faint yellow colored body with a thick foamy laced head. First taste is sour celery and brash malts, then more of a soapy, wit-coriander floral flavors, finishing with a simple grainy plain flavor with a pasty texture and a lactic yeast aftertaste. Not impressive really, undoubtedly overpriced at €7, but I had to try this one. BigBastard (668), L.A., California, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 12, 2006 Really smooth, with light flavors of spice, fruit and a very slight medicine taste. As it warmed more citrus flavor was noticed. Very good and refreshing. Too bad this is so hard to get. eaglefan538 (2405), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

A bit different of an experience, this time coming off almost like an imperial pilsner, good grainey and bready elements underneath it all, but a grassy dry hoppy finish was very clear and memorable, more distinct than anything spicey about it. Lighter fruits took a lesser role this time around too. A fun experience, much thanks to Robert! Original rating: This one poured the usual golden murky color. The mouthfeel was more carbonated and the body lighter than the other Westvleteren brews. The aroma was yeasty and mild (not strong). There was a bitterness to this beer that was really enjoyable. The finish was dry and peppery with an orange peel / zest flavor present from start to finish of each sip. This beer exceeded my expectations, while the "8" mildly disappointed. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2006 Hazy/cloudy yellow beer topped by a thick moussy head. Head keeps growing up over the edge of my Westy tulip without ever spilling over. Aroma is quite light and dusty, some nice spicy wheaty character, sweet peachiness, a bit of clove and a perfume and cologne aroma. Flavour is surprisingly subtle, but good. Wheaty body and flavour, soft textured but full-bodied. Peach sweetness, with some dusty, yeasty notes. Lingering spicy finish, soft wheat and some herbal minty hop flavour. Honeyish malt and light bitterness. Nice beer. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 25, 2006 bottle thanks to blankboy. Hazy pale yellow pour with a nice foamy head. Aromas were bright citrus and pepper. Flavor was more malty than the aromas. The light crisp citrus was still there as was the pepper. Some additional spice through the middle. Hoppy bite on the finish. Very nice beer
