Nov 17, 2002 A slightly unclear golden beer with at very good head. It has a very powerful aroma of fruit and ale yeast. The flavor is fresh at first and then woody and finishing with some sharpness on the back of the tongue - a for me unrecoqnizable spice. A very complex flavor.

Jul 27, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) It’s rare but it does happen: a new Trappist beer. Pale golden with a huge head. Quite lightbodied with a very, very pronounced bitterness throughout. Fruity and fresh but also a bit sharp. Rather unusual trappist - perhaps Orval is the closest relative. But this lacks that beers refined spicyness. 220501

Jan 5, 2007 33 cL bottle. Pours almost white/clear but becomes slightly yellow. Clear fruity aroma with yeast elements. Carbonation as well. Almost no sweetness, has fruit notes, slightly nutty as well. Yeast and citric notes are dominating. Reminded me of Orval without being too similar. Aftertaste is suprisingly bitter, yet not overly dominating.

Jun 4, 2002 Very pale yellow, only slightly hazy. Grassy dry hop aroma. Medium bodied, dry with just a hint of toffee, clean firm malt profile. Like an elegant north German pilsener!

Sep 2, 2006 Bottle. Pours yellow / golden, hazy with a small white head. Smells yeast, malt and grapefruit. Aroma is promising, with yeasts, malt, spice and hop, nice and very complex.

Dec 17, 2004 Bottle. Slightly cloudy, yellow colour. Citrus aroma. Quite good bitterness from start to finish. Aromatic hoppy aftertaste. Reminds me more of an English than a Belgian ale.

Nov 18, 2005 Bottled. Hazy pale apricotty orange/yellow colour with huge, longlasting foamish bubbly head, lacing. Spices, herbs, yeast and wheat in aroma. Also some hints of fruits and flowers. Flavour of herbs, fruit with flowery hoppish hints. Some wheat, caramel and grassyness in flavour too. A bit "soapish" at some point too. Sweetish bitter aftertaste at first, which then turns into smooth hops, and lasts long. Very well done brew! Rich carbonation, but not disturbing, makes palate quite pleasant.
