Commercial Description:
It is a Belgian-style Pale Ale with an American twist. It is brewed with pale, carahell, and wheat malts, and hopped with centennial and Cascade hops to give it a distinctly American character. The medium bodied beer has a crisp palate and moderate bitterness coupled with the fruity esters from the abbey yeast strain. It is bottle and keg conditioned so expect a tall fluffy head and a small amount of sediment. Recipe by brewer, Jeff Musselman.

Consumed 9-12-09...bottle...Pours hazy orange/amber with a little foamy beige head....clove on the nose--faint in general....a bitter yeast flavor with a little metal on the finish...not a great representation of a belgian for me....too much bitter in the finish, and not enough sweet for balance

bottle poured a light amber in color with a foamy white head that left a nice pillow. aroma has plenty of belgian yeast, light spice, interesting floral hops, and mild fruit. flavor has some malt, grains, yeast, and hops. definitely belgian inspired but it retains some pale ale underneath.

Bottle. Pours a dark golden color with a foamy three finger off-white head. Aroma was yeasty and lightly hopped with wheat, citrus and some spices. Flavor was light citrus, fruit, yeast and had some subtle spices with a dry bitter hoppy finish.

Bottle ( 12oz ). Clear light amber with a large quick-diminishing fizzy-frothy off-white head. Dry, pungently grassy aroma, some coriander, mild sweetness, and a bit of alcohol. Taste follows, add some green apple; bingo! Average, somewhat syrupy mouthfeel, dry, a bit astringent, increasing dry spicy grassiness ... I like it quite a bit.

Bottle: Poured a bright golden color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry hops with some nice light fruity ester and some grain is also noticeable. Taste is also a very nice mix between some cereal and dry hops with a light fruity touch in the finish – I very much appreciated the hops presence and this was somewhat reminiscent of DDC Derničre Volonté thought a notch below overall.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, amber color with a large, frothy white head. Lacing is above average. Aromas of peach, pare, herbs, and some light malts. Lively mouthfeel with a slick, creamy finish. Tastes of light sweetness, medium bitterness, and toasted malts.
