| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 13, 2007 THOUGHTS: I’m not much of a Marzen/Octoberfest fan, but this isn’t bad. But it is also one of Weyerbacher’s least unique brews. Not bad but not very memorable.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium amber with fair carbonation and a small, sudsy, off-white head that mostly diminished and left virtually no lacing. The aroma was moderate caramel malt, moderate grassy hops, which come out more as it warmed, and a little bit of spice. The initial flavor was light to moderately sweet and lightly bitter, while the finish was moderately sweet and bitter and sour with an average duration. It was malty with a not too bitter hoppy finish. The sourness was an almost sour rye like sourness that became stronger as it warmed. The medium body was syrupy then tyrned dry with fizzy carbonation and a sour, somewhat metallic finsh. Pastor (509), Maine, USA
