This beer was very hoppy for the style and the hops had a strong grapefruity smell/taste. This was unique amongst the Oktobers I’ve had...more hoppy than most, just a tad shy from IPA-land. I’d have this again. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Smells very malty with notes of dough, toasting, brown sugar, autumn leaves, and herbs. Poured amber with a hint of copper in color with a small, off-white, head that diminished very quickly. No lacing. Clear, though there are many tiny particles. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes very malty with notes of bread, dough, caramel, salt, nuts, and wood. Medium body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Salty, malty finish. Overall, a well made but pretty average Oktoberfest. LinusStick (1852), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 24, 2007 Good Oktoberfest. Aroma of caramel malt and metal. Pour was a medium dark amber with a thin white ring for a head. Taste was not as sweet as an Oktoberfest should be. Caramel and burnt malt on top of a wet stickiness with heavy carbonation. There is some bitterness in the aftertaste that is odd for a Oktoberfest. The label does say it is their own take on the style so with that in mind it is an interesting and fresh take on the style.
