Commercial Description:
AutumnFest is Weyerbachers own unique twist on the German Oktoberfest style. Copper-amber in color, AutumnFest is made with Vienna and Munich malts for that authentic, Bavarian easy drinking taste. Each sip imparts a wonderful roastiness of malt on the tongue followed by a smooth, consistent finish. Wonderfully balanced with a clean, velvety, slightly fruity taste, AutumnFest is the perfect beer for the Fall- a nice transition between the lighter beers of summer and the darker, heavier winter brews. It is a favorite of many Weyerbacher aficionados, who anticipate the end of summer with this wonderful beer. Weyerbacher AutumnFest (ABV 5.4%) is generally available in stores August through December. Pick up a case to celebrate the change of seasons. Prost!

Sept. 2005 - Beer poured with nice foamy hops and golden color. Aroma was citrusy hops. This beer was very hoppy for the style and the hops had a strong grapefruity smell/taste. This was unique amongst the Oktobers I’ve had...more hoppy than most, just a tad shy from IPA-land. I’d have this again.

12oz. Bottle: Lightly sweet aroma. Smells very malty with notes of dough, toasting, brown sugar, autumn leaves, and herbs. Poured amber with a hint of copper in color with a small, off-white, head that diminished very quickly. No lacing. Clear, though there are many tiny particles. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes very malty with notes of bread, dough, caramel, salt, nuts, and wood. Medium body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Salty, malty finish. Overall, a well made but pretty average Oktoberfest.

Good Oktoberfest. Aroma of caramel malt and metal. Pour was a medium dark amber with a thin white ring for a head. Taste was not as sweet as an Oktoberfest should be. Caramel and burnt malt on top of a wet stickiness with heavy carbonation. There is some bitterness in the aftertaste that is odd for a Oktoberfest. The label does say it is their own take on the style so with that in mind it is an interesting and fresh take on the style.
