Commercial Description:
AutumnFest is Weyerbachers own unique twist on the German Oktoberfest style. Copper-amber in color, AutumnFest is made with Vienna and Munich malts for that authentic, Bavarian easy drinking taste. Each sip imparts a wonderful roastiness of malt on the tongue followed by a smooth, consistent finish. Wonderfully balanced with a clean, velvety, slightly fruity taste, AutumnFest is the perfect beer for the Fall- a nice transition between the lighter beers of summer and the darker, heavier winter brews. It is a favorite of many Weyerbacher aficionados, who anticipate the end of summer with this wonderful beer. Weyerbacher AutumnFest (ABV 5.4%) is generally available in stores August through December. Pick up a case to celebrate the change of seasons. Prost!

Slightly darker than the typical American lager, perhaps like a yuengling in appearance. Not much aroma but I have a stuffy nose. Taste is not really octoberfest like in any way. Festive, yes but not offensive, friendly in its own personality. Rather mild but has an industrial effect that nears bitter on the palate front. Decent carbonation, it certainly is noticeable. Finish is rather behaved and controlled but that industrial mild bitterness keeps rearing it’s head. Overall; easy to drink and above average in quality. However, this is smooth enough that you would never know this is above 6%. Can’t hold a candle to Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen.

This beer pours copper with a nice head. Notes of yeast and malt on the nose and then the sweeter flavor of some carmale and toffee on the palate. A nice lasting finish.

Pours a clear amber orange with a medium beige head. Aroma of candied malts, yeast, caramel and a hint of tartness. Taste is of candied malts, caramel, a bit of autumn spice and a bit of tart. A slight not too tangy orange peel finish. Not bad, but not overly exciting either.

Found this one today in the cooler of the local rip and run. A nice summer drinking beer too if you ask me. Yet it seems that Weyerbacher is better at their big honkin brews. This beer is very average and does not stand out but is far from swill.

Poured a lightly hazed amber color with a small off-white head. Caramel malt with a light tartness in the background. Sweet carmale malt. full malt all the way. Some toastiness. medium bodied.

OK, I’m probably drinking this a little bit late (February), but oh well. From a 12 oz’er, this poured with the appearance of fall ... bright and orange, with a thin cloud cover. The aroma is light and airy with almost a sense of a gourd. Sweet, to be sure, very much in the Vienna-Fest family, with light caramel all around the edges. This of course isn’t doing anything to warm my blood on this frigid wet February evening, but it would probably be a nice session beer for a cool crisp fall night when the leaves are just starting to fall down.
