Commercial Description:
AutumnFest is Weyerbachers own unique twist on the German Oktoberfest style. Copper-amber in color, AutumnFest is made with Vienna and Munich malts for that authentic, Bavarian easy drinking taste. Each sip imparts a wonderful roastiness of malt on the tongue followed by a smooth, consistent finish. Wonderfully balanced with a clean, velvety, slightly fruity taste, AutumnFest is the perfect beer for the Fall- a nice transition between the lighter beers of summer and the darker, heavier winter brews. It is a favorite of many Weyerbacher aficionados, who anticipate the end of summer with this wonderful beer. Weyerbacher AutumnFest (ABV 5.4%) is generally available in stores August through December. Pick up a case to celebrate the change of seasons. Prost!

Bottle-Poured out a copper-tan color with a large, yet quickly dissappearing tan head.Notes of malt and pine in the aroma as well as taste which is more heavy on the malt. Not too bad.

Weyerbacher does this beer fine and in keeping with their tradition, it’s just a little different than all the other Octoberfests out there. Nice malt, head disipates quickly and the best part of this beer is the finish. It is ordinary up to that point but satifies in the" Weyerbacher different than everyone else" way.

Nice autumn beer. Nice taste. Pretty picture on label. Reminds me of apple picking in the fall.

Clean, vegetably munich aroma, slightly minty taste atop the strong munich malts, no hops. Boring.

Bottle: Amber color, nice head, lots of lacing. Nose of pumpkin, light clove and cinnamon. The flavor is sweet, rich and chewy. Nice raisin, plum, grape notes. The finish is a bit tangy, some almond in hindsight, maybe a bit of maple.

Re-rate, 9/06: I don’t know where I got the hop tones the first time round, although this rich malty beer was balanced by some spicing and light hopping. Appearance wasn’t glamorous, small head and weak lacing, knocking that down one. The aroma was rich malty, toasted notes, fairly typical for the style. The flavor followed suit with the malty base bringing out a touch of spices and a sweetness that was almost grape like (light citrus). Good toast / spice balance. Original rating ’05: Poured an amber orange color with a generous initial head (especially within style) that laced great. The aroma was slightly pine-like with a malty base detectable. Flavor was malty, but uniquely biased towards a hoppiness typical of an American Pale Ale, maybe even an IPA. A very creative approach, with the malty base yielding to a citrus (some grapefruits) and lightly pine-like hoppy finish (but not overdone at all). Refreshing after running quite a few Oktoberfests this season already.
