Commercial Description:
AutumnFest is Weyerbachers own unique twist on the German Oktoberfest style. Copper-amber in color, AutumnFest is made with Vienna and Munich malts for that authentic, Bavarian easy drinking taste. Each sip imparts a wonderful roastiness of malt on the tongue followed by a smooth, consistent finish. Wonderfully balanced with a clean, velvety, slightly fruity taste, AutumnFest is the perfect beer for the Fall- a nice transition between the lighter beers of summer and the darker, heavier winter brews. It is a favorite of many Weyerbacher aficionados, who anticipate the end of summer with this wonderful beer. Weyerbacher AutumnFest (ABV 5.4%) is generally available in stores August through December. Pick up a case to celebrate the change of seasons. Prost!

Bottle. Nose is strange with some mustiness and maltiness to it. Pours with a decent head, but it leaves as quickly as the Indy Colts can score on you. Amber color with a bit of murk, but not cloudy. Taste is interesting without the sweetness of the malt being immediately evident, instead a bite of carbonation and some spice and slight hop along with a musty, wet rag flavor that isn’t really unpleasant, just not great. It sweetens a bit and then bites the back of the tongue. Medium body and heavy carb finish this one out. Not bad, not great, just average.

Dark red color with a thin head. Grainy aroma. Bitter malt taste with a dry finish. Nothing of note.

Had a draft of this. Seemed kinda thin, a sort or an orangish taste and aroma. Not the greatest beer.

2 bottles shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow & tupalev -- courtesy of tupalev & myself. Pours a dark amber with an average size white head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt mixed with honey. The flavour follows the aroma but is a dissapointment: it’s a little stale and just doesn’t taste that good -- there’s something in there I don’t care for that much.

Bottle. Clear copper with small white head. Sweet malt, caramel, with some spice in the finish. Not bad for a marzen like beer.

Two bottles shared with blankboy, tupalev & HogTownHarry - courtesy of blankboy & tupalev. Dark amber with a medium white head. Aroma of generic malt and buckwheat honey. Flavour follows the aroma pretty closely. Seemed a bit stale to me - not sure if it was an old bottle, or just a characteristic of the beer, but I didn’t really dig it.

Shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, and GregClow - I brought it. Dark orange, small white head. Sweet dark honey aroma. Odd sweet malt taste. Unbalanced, medium mouthfeel. Touch of maple syrup. Very similar to the F & M Harvest Ale made for the Bow and Arrow - the right Fall flavours are there, but just have not been put together properly. Ok, but not great.
