Sweet caramel, nut and earthy aromas dominate the nose. Flavor is sweet and creamy (which is a little bit of a surprise), with lots of caramel and nuts. Mouthfeel is silky/creamy. This is very nice. halfonit (484), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 12, 2009 Has a reddish brown color. Aroma is of malts, yeast, and this might sound crazy but I can pick up what seems to be a balsamic scent. Taste is mainly malts and honey with a little yeast in the back end. Has a little bit of a bite in the end. Not a bad fest beer, but I’ve had better. thornecb (1813), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 8, 2009 Pours deep amber into a shaker. Candy corn and caramel malt aromas. Crisply carbonated and sweet caramel upfront and a dry finish. smcolw (373), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 30, 2009 It’s been five years since I last rated this beer. Let’s see how this compares.
Very attractive near-white head. Nearly clear liquid--solidly amber, matches the autumn colors. Leaves good lace.
Dry malt aroma with a strong metalic (aluminum?) smell.
This is a mostly malty beer. Light hop, but even the aftertaste is the remnants of pale and crystal malts--with a touch of bitterness and sourness. Very full bodied, good carbonation. A good beer, easy to drink, but fairly run-of-the-mill. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 19, 2009 Aroma of light sweet malt and a hint of bread. From a light copper pour with a small white head. Flavor reminds me a bit of honey and a not bad hint of brown sugar and caramel. Medium bodied with a tad fizzy carbonation. Amber pour with medium white head. Aromas of malty caramel. Flavor matches aroma. Easy drinking and very enjoyable. douglas88 (1678), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 7, 2009 12 oz bottle thanks to unclemattie. A very cool label; it reminds me of Pennsylvania in the Autumn. Pours a clear bronze color with a medium white head. The aroma is full of malts, light hops and caramel, definitely some veggie like notes. The flavor is nice; smooth metallic hops, copper, rich malts, sweet and easygoing. Nice.
