Commercial Description:
AutumnFest is Weyerbachers own unique twist on the German Oktoberfest style. Copper-amber in color, AutumnFest is made with Vienna and Munich malts for that authentic, Bavarian easy drinking taste. Each sip imparts a wonderful roastiness of malt on the tongue followed by a smooth, consistent finish. Wonderfully balanced with a clean, velvety, slightly fruity taste, AutumnFest is the perfect beer for the Fall- a nice transition between the lighter beers of summer and the darker, heavier winter brews. It is a favorite of many Weyerbacher aficionados, who anticipate the end of summer with this wonderful beer. Weyerbacher AutumnFest (ABV 5.4%) is generally available in stores August through December. Pick up a case to celebrate the change of seasons. Prost!

Off tan head on an orangish red body. Earthy, toasty aroma with a light noble hop quality. Flavors are heavy on teh toasty side, without much malt sweetness till the finish. Touch of hop bitterness mixes with carbonation for a crisp finish. Tastes kinda like how you would guess it would taste from looking at the label, if there was a small brush fire going somewhere in the background or on one of the barns.

On tap. Poured a dark amber with a tan head. Malty aroma and tastes. Thin body. Light hops. Nothing really stood out.

Deep orange, decent head. Sweet caramel with a faint note of toast. Flavor has a bit of orange pekoe tea (I find this in a lot of Okt’s, don’t know why), a slightly vegetal hop note, and sweet caramel finish. Just a touch thin. Sampled 3 Oktoberfests over the course of this evening, and although none knocked me over, this was probably the most satisfying.

Nice orangy amber color, cream colored head, lots of lace. Toasty, with caramel, malt, and a bit of hops. Lighter to medium body. Pretty nice.

Deep amber with a light, white head. Aroma is malty with slight candy. Nice carbonation and a perfume quality to the hops. Bitterness nearing that of a brown ale. A slight tainty sourness suggest it may have been an old bottle. Overall, not bad.

Spicy, malty flavor. A tad thin, but not bad. Bitter in the aftertaste. Overall easy to drink, but not exceedingly impressive.

12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen, but it’s the 2004 batch, knowing the store where I got it from. Poured out a brilliantly clear bright copper color, with a sticky white head. The head left a generous lacing down the sides of the glass. Aromas are of fresh Munich and Vienna malts, slight burnt sugar, some yeastiness and earthy hops. The hops are subdued in aromas, but strong and earthy in flavors. They provide a balancing factor to the sweet malts. It is a very well balanced beer, with nothing in particular rising above any other ingredient. Slight tastes of alcohol on the backend of this beer give it a definite kick. Stronger than most Octoberfests I’ve had, that much is certain. Thick mouthfeel is almost chewy from all the malts in it. Finishes very balanced and warming. Makes you want to say "Wunderbar."

Aroma of the Weyerbacher yeast strain(which lends the fruity character,) with a tease of roastiness, decent malt but a little grainy(which I never care for)and some hops in there.Nice copper amber appearance, quick head, some lace.Seems a little flat almost, yet there is some hops in there to make up for it.It was OK and I probly wont get it again.Decent..
