Bottle. Aroma of chocolate and coffee and roasted malt. Mild flavor similar to the smell, with some bubble gum and a crisp element. It’s like a mix between a porter and an ale.

Pours black with a nice thick tan head. There is a rich coffee aroma with some chocolate and hops. The flavor has a roastedness to it along with some elements of hops. Finish has a bitterness that slighlty lingers.

Dark brown to black with a medium head. Good Lacing. Aroma of dark roasted grains and coffee. Taste of roasted grains, chocolate, coffee and a bit of floral hops and salt. Heavy to medium body. Mostly sweet and barely bitter finish.

Pours black with a dense but shifty beige head. No real lacing but pretty good retention. Aroma is very nice, with notes of chocolate malt, tarry and spicy molasses, plums, anise, tobacco and soured dark fruits in moderation. Soured, almost lactic trend continues in the beginning of the taste, but eventually subsides. Flavors of lightly roasted malt and chocolate, more licorice and some peppery fruit. Mouthfeel is decent, bordering on thin at times, but has far too much carbonation. Finishes dry, roasty and somewhat hoppy, though this is the only place hops were detected. Not bad, but very vestigial. Weyerbacher could turn a beer like this into a masterpiece if they didn’t filter the hell out of it and force carbonate it to death.

Draft: I returned to this numerous times yesterday during the tour of the brewery. A porter that includes my love of chocolate malt. Aroma was down due to blisteringly cold temps in the warehouse. A nice smooth roased finsish.

Beer pours dark with a nice size head. Body is medium for a porter. The taste is actually really nice, includes chocolate, malt, carmel, and a little bit of vanilla. They all work really well in this beer. To me, it kind of tastes like (or what it would taste like) if you mixed Old Heathen and the Scotch Ale. Pretty good.
