Ah, the other black hole...Weyerbacher. I received this in one of my first trades. This was before I wrote down who gave them to me, so I’m guessing it was john_adam2002, iowaherkeye, or eyedrinkale in March 2007. So this bottle is at least a year old since purchase. Pours black with little head, but still decently carbonated. Chocolatey and malty aroma. Taste is bland, maybe a hint of sour.

Pours a nice black with a dark head. Aroma is of roasted malt. Taste is complex and well balanced. Flavors of roasted malts, chocolate, slight coffee and some other earthy notes were in there. Nice Mouthfeel. Solid.

Black with red highlights beneath a frothy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, cigar, coffee. Taste is slightly sweet. Not bad at all. Another good one from Wyerbacher.

Bottle - from sampler pack. Black and opaque. Excellent! Very rich. Near perfect balance of malt, roatiness and hops.

Nice dark pour with a small head that dissipates to a thin lacing around my Rogue pint glass. The first aroma I got from this brew was chocolate and alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium-light, this brew is about dead on for mouthfeel of a porter. Medium carbonation. Flavors are chocolate, smoke, and coffee. Finishes dry with little alcohol flavor that was noticable in the aroma. Not a bad beer.

22 oz Bomber-pours black w/a moderate brown head. Deep earthy aroma. Flavors of chocolate, peat, smoke, coffee, molasis, & a little chocolate. Deep rich full flavor, very satisfying & solidly made Porter; perfect after dinner drink/nightcap. Nothing that will make you say "this is the best Porter ever made", but nothing that won’t make you want another one either. Long, smooth, smokey finish; alcohol is well hidden.

Oct. 2006 - Beautiful pour, dark brown nice head. Aroma was nice...sweet roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor, though, was somewhat disappointingly thin and overcarbonated. Bitter coffee, chocolate and roasted malt...typical porter with a large lactic acid flavor. Thin mouthfeel. Not memorable.
