A- Pours a deep brownish black with a phenomenal, light brown, 2 finger, fluffy head.
S- Smell is fairly one dimensional, roasted malt, hints of coffee and possibly some chocolate, a bit metallic.
T- Lots of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate malt, sort of an underlying creamy flavor.
M- Thick with medium carbonation.
D- This wasn’t a standout for me but it has definitely aged well and hides the 7 percent ridiculously well.

Nov 24, 2009 7-30-09...12oz bottle.....very dark brown close to negro....bitter coffee aromas and sweet malts...flavors similar ...medium body...refreshing for a porter....I’ve had this many times before, and this is one of the better releases...goes down easy with nice sweet malt and a coffee finish...a good local classic in my book

Oct 28, 2009 nose is tobacco, black cherry, roast, booze and unknown floral/herbal/perfume aroma. very odd and borderline offensive. swore my glass was dirty and tried another to no avail. flavor is roast and black cherry with carmelized (deeply) raspberries. muddy brown head. such an odd aroma!

Oct 9, 2009 pours deep dark brown with a nice thin tan head. aromas of mocha, licorice, and cappucino. flavor is chocolate, blackstrap molasses, and caramel with coffee and licorice in the aftertaste. malty. nice finish.

Sep 11, 2009 Bottle. Pours a black body with a brune head. Chocolate with hints of coffee and molasses. Roast y with a light etoh warming. Chewy and a great session beer if you’d consider 7% a walk in the park. Well done.

Jul 31, 2009 Bottle: Poured a black color with a thick brown head. The aroma was coffee, chocolate and metal. Thankfully, the metal smell didn’t translate in the taste. The flavor was mostly coffee and dark chocolate. Overall, a very drinkable and well balanced Porter.

Jul 26, 2009 12oz bottle provided by beerbaron420 (Thanks Mark!) served in an English pint glass. This porter poured an opaque black with a thick head of lasting, creamy tan foam. Excellent lacing. The aroma consisted of roasted malt, caramel, cold coffee, and also some mild bittersweet chocolate. The flavor had roasted malt, molasses, bittersweet chocolate, and also some faint licorice. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied. Light carbonation. A little thin on the tongue. Not bad, but there are many other widely availiable porters out there that I would take over this one.

Mar 14, 2009 black with tan head. some roasty notes to the nose. medium carbonation. flavor has some sweet crystal malt character up front, also likely from the molasses, with some black patent roasty components before a very dry finish. pretty standard porter, nothing spectacular
