Spicy aroma of corriander, citrus, bread, yeast and a little candi sugar. Rather watery in body. Odd flavor that doesn’t match the aroma. Moldy caramel? Some citrus twang also. Finishes muddled on the tongue. atpayne (615), Zionsville, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 7, 2005 Super pale yellow color. Very active body supporting a snow white, foamy head. Aroma has some standard whit aromas; yeast, spice, and bananna; but also a strong earthy aroma that seems to be out of place or even off. Odd flavor profile for a wit. Quite sour and tart, seemingly a gueuze rather than a wit. The sourness is very strong, but behind that is a medium bodied wheat character. Sourness settles and has a quick and momentarily sweet finish. I like the gueuze style character, but it doesn’t seem to fit the style of the beer, so I’ve rated it a few points lower. Thanks to hopdog for this one. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 6, 2005 Pours with all the color and energy of a run-of-the-mill pale ale; not a compliment. It does have a sweet aroma, mixed with a wheatiness I like; a compliment. Taste is sickly sweet, I don’t detect any of the wheat I smelled, something is wrong here. Not the greatest. richlikebeer (832), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 25, 2005 sweet citrusy nose, orange and pepper are the highlights. the pour is a cloudy pale yellow, looks like pineapple juice except for the huge foamy white head that faded down to a thinner layer, it actually took multiple pours to get the 12 oz bottle into the 16 oz glass. the orange and pepper follow through to the flavor, but they body is a little watery as the wheat doesnt have quite enough of a contribution to the flavor. a nice sweetness in the tail, but the watery mouthfeel draws down on the overall quality of this one. puzzl (2635), New York, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2005 Very, very pale yellow with decent head and medium lacing. Full, citrusy, wheaty, spicy aroma, exactly as a wit should have. Palate was a bit thin and taste was not great, but an enjoyable and refreshing wit. lamas (726), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2005 Bottle. A hazy straw pour with a small white head and plenty of effervescence. Strong aroma of wheat, lemon, orange peel and just a touch of coriander. Not much body to this. A little too thin. Pretty crisp and refreshing though. Very wheaty and lemony with some zesty orange peel flavors. Hints of coriander in the taste too. The wateriness is very apparent by the end of the bottle. I’m a fan of the style. swirl (267), collingswood, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 3, 2005 This beer poured a cloudy golden/straw color similiar to lemonade. The head started at a good size but quickly dissipated. On the nose it doesn’t have a strong aroma of wheat, but it does have a nice citrus presence. The flavor is stronger and more intense that some others that I have tried. Only characteristic I came across in the flavor was the citrus. An enjoyable beer. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 27, 2005 Bottle 12oz - Poured pale yellow with an average white head. Aroma of citrus and cloves. Flavor is light cloves, orange, corriander and some wicked aftertaste that I couldn’t put a finger on. Some spice. On the palate it is thin and watery. This one would have best been left in the bottle. Not my favorite.
