Heavy spice and old stale orange peel aroma. Dry herbal backdrop nose. Goldenrod and wild weed flavors from the start. Some sweet wheat and light spice show up in spots but, to untamed. A tough style, with balance being the key. This one lack in both balance and delicacy. Rockinout (946), Kent, Ohio, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 12, 2004 Light fruity aroma, spicy clove character, wheat. Clear yeallow, thin white head. Wheat dominates flavor, moderate bitterness, some citrus and grassy hop flavor. Light body, medium carbonation. Unique Americanized witbier - fruity, spicy, bitter, and wheaty. Don’t recommend the yeast pour, it adds a nuttiness that doesn’t work in this beer. Silphium (2138), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2004 Cloudy light yellow body, thick, puffy off white head. Strong yeasty aroma with coriander, orange peel, and tangy wheat. Flavor is rather thin and quite yeasty with coriander and pepper leading to biscuity and somewhat tangy wheat malt, finishing with orange peel and more spice. Although watery this is refreshing and makes an easy pour. Dickinsonbeer (3494), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 3, 2004 Looks great and smells Ok but the flavor and motuhfeel really hurt this beer. First of all- it tastes more like a berliner weisse due to its sour/acidic qualities. It is quite watery and not too much taste overall. Big let-down from weyerbacher. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 20, 2004 Weak, in my opinion. I love the style and I love this brewery, but this has to be the worst Weyerbacher I have had so far. The first one was painful to drink. The second was a little bit easier, but not the hoegaarden experience that I was looking for. The color is light lager yellow. Not too hazy for its type. Flavor is borderline tasteless and the palate is slightly harsh. I do like the bottle’s pic tho. Overall, I’d expect better from them. DYCSoccer17 (2192), Davis, California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jul 19, 2004 Sour orange/lemon citrus notes with peppery spices in the nose. Authentic to style. Moderatelyt hazy pale straw color with tiny quickly dissipating white head. Malty, creamy, and boring. A little zing at the end, other than that not much different than a lager. Dissapointing. Does not live up to the aroma. ChazyRPh (571), Chazy, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 19, 2004 pours a slightly hazy straw color with a small head. Aroma of orange, yeast, pineapple and peaches. Explosion of flavor to start, mostly citrus and yeast. the middle mellows and is kinda grassy. the finish is clean with a hint of spiciness. This is a nice beer.
