Commercial Description:
Blanche is a thirst quenching beer that combines character and flavor with a moderate alcohol content. Just try a bottle. In the nose you'll notice spiciness from the coriander seeds and dried curacao orange peels added during the boil. In the mouth you'll find a mild and refreshing ale with a hint of dryness from the wheat ingredients. A clean finish follows with just a hint of tart spiciness.

12 oz bottle served in a clear pint glass. Pours so hazy that I thought I accidentally poured it into a glass with a little bit of milk in the bottom. Lots of white head with this one too. Nose was rotten vegetables and eggs. Taste was just the same. I actually couldn’t finish this glass of beer, and that was a first for me.

12oz bottle pored into my Ommegang Witte Tumbler. Solid cloudiness of hazy lemonade, white fizzy head. Huge and overwhelming aroma of coriander. Sure, maybe it is not a welcomed aroma, then again some people only drink BUD. Some nice lemons and bananas. Good wheat malt aroma as well. A Witbier doesn’t look or smell any better than this. Flavor has a hint of orange pulp, lots of wheat, and coriander fruitiness. Yum-a-dum-dums. What a spectacular summer ale it is. Whole grain wheat malt flavors linger all through the very dry finish. Very thirst quenching (as expected). This is a very respectable beer, I enjoyed it.

Beer smells like shitted in diapers. I liked the lightness to this beer, but it was pretty offensive in some ways. For one, the initial sip tastes like it smells; ... For two, it looks completely gross in a way that only a super beer like Oerbeir can turn sexy with its flavor profile, and thirdly, it just doesn’t really have any citrussy flavors on its own. It’s like a Blue Moon where you have to jack up the orange to get it to taste alright. Not my favorite beer, but not a bad beer, despite my nasty review. I just really didn’t care for it.

Bottle Pours a light gold with a decent white head. The head leaves quickly. Okay lacing. Has a sweet belgain aroma of citrus, spices, and wheat. Has a good carbonation. A smooth mouthfeel. The flavors a nice. Fruity and well balanced. Has a watery texture. A light to medium body. The finish is good with a nice aftertaste. I drank this on a warm day and it was very refreshing.

I always throw this disclaimer out there when I sample a witbier. So I guess I have to do it again. I’m not a huge fan of this style, but for some reason, when I get the chance, I give it a try anyway. I figure if I don’t, then maybe I’d miss out on acquiring a taste for it. What if I did that for IPAs? I probably wouldn’t be a member of this site or enjoy beer as much as I do. So, I keep trying them. But for now, I still don’t care for witbiers. This, like many of the others, have that sour and vegetable-like flavor that I just don’t appreciate. I can’t get my palate around it. I did like the way this beer looked and poured though. The light grassy color with a slight haze appeared beautifully. But it went downhill quickly from there. Maybe some day I’ll acquire an affection for this style and revisit this one.

Hazy gold appearance with a small, off white head and good lacing. Yeasty, spicy aroma. Taste is wheaty, spicy, some citrus; on the tart side. Smooth, light-to-medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel with a dry, medium length finish.
