Commercial Description:
Blasphemy is our award winning QUAD aged in bourbon barrels. But not overaged, so we've picked up gentle vanilla oaky notes which complement rather than supercede the complex qualities that already make QUAD such an incredible beer.

22 oz. bomber poured into a trappist glass. Very small cream colored head with a bit of alcohol present in the nose along with plums, pears and oaky notes. A fizzy and somewhat heavy mouthfeel. The flavor is a bit sweet, very woody and there is enough alcohol present in the flavor to correspond to a +11% abv. The oak adds a peculiar character to the beer that sets it apart from other quads. I am still disputed as to whether this made the brew better or took away from it. The finish was dry arnd warm, and mellowed out as it warmed. I was a bit turned off to this brew at first, but it grew on me a little as I reached the bottom...it developed a bit of a better character. Good, but certainly not the best Quad I have indulged in. Will have to try it a few more times.

Bottle, 12oz. Pours a nice, translucent copper body under a beige head. Vanilla, oak, sugars, some alcohol and dried fruits in the rather intense and complex aroma. The kind of aroma one could enjoy for a looong time. The flavor is sugary and alcohol-warming, with oak, dried fruits and hoppy bitterness as well. The bitterness was unexpected, but sure likeable. Full body. It has a long finish with oak, dried fruits and caramel. And bitterness. A really lovely 1 hour beer. (080216)

Many thanks to whoever sent this to me. I can’t really remember. Well carbonated amber body with very faint head. Delicious malty aroma with faint Belgian spiciness and a little malt spice and yeast. Sweet malt character with a little bit of spice and yeast.

Small beige head. Reddish golden color. Initial aroma of sweet malts, yeast and a berry-like fruitiness. Then some wooden notes and a pleasant whiff of spices. Full-flavored with lots of malts, caramel, wood and fruits. Fine bitterness. Leaves a noteable alcohol heath in the mouth. Full-bodied. Long malty, light bitter and spicy finish. A very nice winter-warmer. (Bottle shared by Yngwie, thanks)

Bottled. Semi clear reddish brown coloured with a medium sized off-white head. Malty sweetness with notes of berries, liqourice, yeast, caramel and a hint of woody dryness.

Bottled. Pour is hazy amber with a thin beige head... not much carbonation. Aroma is alcohol (whiskey) and nuts. Taste is nutty (macadamia) and sweet. A execellent sipper. Awesome warmer, their is also a sutble citrus in the end.

Oak and vanilla aroma. Sweet, oaky, smooth. Complex beer where you try to sort out all the sensations as you sip. Bitter, sweet, spicy. You can feel the alcohol warmth, but it is no overpowering.

April 2007 - Really nice. Light caramel pour with decent head and lacing. Strong aroma of oak and fruit. Nice blend of fruit, caramel and even a hoppy bitterness. Really strong oak/bourbon barrel which makes this beer a tasteworthy twist on a good style. Really good.
