Man, weyerbacher loves to double dip on their brew seleciton by oak aging them. That’s their deal. I think this is the worst of the oak aged, but quad is not as good as their others. Still decent and STRONG. Cobra (1061), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 17, 2008 12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No fresh by date seen. None really needed either, at this ABV. Poured out a hazy light amber color, with a minimal tan colored, soapy head. Aromas right off the bat are alcohol. Hot, burning alcohol. This beer makes no attempt to hide the alcohol whatsoever. Aromas include alcohol, oak barrels, slight vanilla. Flavors are of hot alcohol, burning all the way down. Really opens up your sinuses. Not much else in the way of flavors, unless you consider burning a flavor. Very warming, alcohol hits you immediately. sliffy (2000), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 16, 2008 Bottle: Pours a hazy dark amber with a small white head. Aroma, vanilla, oak, boozy fruits, caramel. Flavor, sweet vanilla notes, some oak, booze, dark fruits. The bourbon aging is overpowering really. There isn’t much quad left past what the barrel has done to this beer. sunevdj (1772), Copenhagen OE, Denmark

Quite sweet with a bit of bitterness. Toffee aromas with heavy alcohol notes. Also prunes and wood with almonds/marzipan. Full bodied with a sticky mouthfeel. Soft carboantion. Nice warming alco burn in the finish. Good stuff indeed. EKGoldings (447), Radford, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 9, 2008 Hazy with dark fruit, some oaky and caramel character as well. Slight vanilla comes across in the aftertaste. Alcohol is obvious but the massive and complex flavors balance well. Slightly cloying. themadmumis (344), Westminster, Maryland, USA
