| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 12, 2007 Dark amber/brown with a big khaki head that leaves great lacing. Aroma is alcohol, slight oak, caramel and vanilla. Taste is big, montrous malt, belgian yeast, and bourbon barrel. Pretty good beer. I like the normal Quad better though. Sampled at the Weyerbacher Brewery in South Easton, PA. tomthompson89 (1479), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 10, 2007 Malty aroma firstly, and also yeasty. Oak-barrel vanilla, which added to the nose. Tasty, like a barley wine, also sweet and woody. Bittery mouthfeel. This brewery does not outstand, yet is quite competent. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 10, 2007 Bottle: Deep rusty copper color with decent translucense and a thin tan head. Sweet aroma with plenty of booziness. Vanilla, raisins, banana, almost rummy with a huge alcohol pungence. Burning ethanol presence everywhere. Upfront it has a raisiny fruitiness, with lots of booze, leaning toward a rum character more so than bourbon. Sticky, overly astringent alcohol flavor, and too hot to have any other chracter. A barrel age that ruined an already not so great beer. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Bottle: Deep amber, on the darker side, moderate frothy off-white head, few rings of lacing.   Rich malt nose, candied nutz and
pale fruit skin, along with hints of some dark pitted fruit.   Minor alcohol is noticeable but not heavy or burning.   Somewhat
viscous on the tongue, rich in malts, sweetness, and minor dark pitted fruit.   Some aspects of Black Cherries, but sorta on the
artificial side.   Fairly smooth, finish is warming with a bit of the alcohol coming out.   While it doesn’t come across to me as
quite the Quad, it does remind me of heavier in body and malt version of the Mad Elf, yet not as cloying nor sweet.   Picks up a bit of
Vanilla and Bourbon as it warms up.   Oh yeah, once this one warms up the Bourbon kicks in, which is a plus for me.   Body and
mouthfeel are full to moderate.   Good beer, probably not what I could consider in the Quad Category, but as an aged Strong Ale its
quite tasty.   Thanks Nick for just handing this one out on my visit!

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 9, 2007 22 Oz bottle, smell of oak and bourbon. Not bad but I;m not a huge fan of bourbon so I was hoping that there would be more flavor to offset the alcohol. Only Rochefort can pack 11+% of alcohol and have it balanced. Would be better aged for a few months. jobyone (234), Charlotte, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Pours a cloudy amber with off white head. Aroma definately has oak and lots of bourbon. The taste is very much like a bourbon with plenty of sweetness, some vanilla, and alcohol. Slightly oily body. I like bourbon so I really enjoyed this.
