Commercial Description:
Blasphemy is our award winning QUAD aged in bourbon barrels. But not overaged, so we've picked up gentle vanilla oaky notes which complement rather than supercede the complex qualities that already make QUAD such an incredible beer.

22 Oz bottle, smell of oak and bourbon. Not bad but I;m not a huge fan of bourbon so I was hoping that there would be more flavor to offset the alcohol. Only Rochefort can pack 11+% of alcohol and have it balanced. Would be better aged for a few months.

Pours a cloudy amber with off white head. Aroma definately has oak and lots of bourbon. The taste is very much like a bourbon with plenty of sweetness, some vanilla, and alcohol. Slightly oily body. I like bourbon so I really enjoyed this.

12 oz bottle. I’ve got a few more of these aging... Apepars a semi-transparent dark, caramel toned amber with plenty of bubbles rising to the top of the 2 finger, off-white head that fades into a mild layer of film with a thick collar. Scattered webbing is left around the glass. Smell is of vanilla, oak, caramel, coconut, brown sugar, raisins, prunes, and a touch of cocoa. Taste is of raisins, rum cake, vanilla, sugar, coconut, and oak. Mouthfeel is chewy, meaty, cake-like all in a full body that’s sugary, hot, yeasty, oaky with dark fruit lingering along the palate. It’s yummy now but I think the best is yet to come with some age under it’s belt.

Thanks to Shigadeyo & Mrbendo for trading this to me. Pours medium copper with a thin head. The aroma is..... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD QUIT PUTTING EVERYTHING IN BOURBON BARRELS!!!!!!!& I wish this trend would die!!! Trust me. This could be such a great beer. It’s not bad but if I want to drink bourbon I will go out and buy some bourbon. Anyway... Aroma and flavor is malt, bourbon, vanilla and maybe some cherry.

22 oz bmber drank a few months ago and rating off a notebook that I just found. Poured a very light hazy appearance with a brownish/amber body and an average size frothy off white head. Sweet aroma with notes of honey, maple syrup, oak, and brandy. Medium bodied with a full mouth feel and light carbonation with well hidden alcohol considering the 11.8%. Sweet flaovr of sugar, yeast, slight alcohol and only a light touch of oak. Would of liked to see the oak a little stronger in both the nose and the flavor. Not bad though.

Deep dark amber coloured body with a very thin slightly off-white coloured head. Aroma of oak, bourbon, vanilla, malt and pit fruits - very strong and very oaky. Full-bodied; Super strong oaky flavour with malt, alcohol and vanilla noticeable. Aftertaste shows more oak, bourbon, pit fruits and malt - nothing crazy. Overall, a decent beer - really too much on it and too oaky to notice anything new from this one. Overall, you aren’t going to make a horrible beer with this combination at all - but this one is definitely a one-time purchase for me. I sampled this 12 ounce bottle purchased at Grape & Gourmet in Virginia Beach, Virginia on 04-November-2007.

Bottle. Light amber colour with a nice head. Aroma of oak, malt and yeast like. Nice flavour of oak, malt and some roastedness. Endsup with a warm feeling from the alcohol.

Wow didn’t expect this beer to be this good. Aroma of bourbon, and sugary spice. Taste of vanilla, bourbon, and raisins. Bourbon flavors are well done and not overpowering. Good sippin’ beer for a cold, winter day.
