| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 27, 2007 Sampled at an STL quad tasting. Pours amber with a light tan head. The aroma has a ton of oak, bread, toffee and abv burn. Medium / thick cloying body with small prickly carbonation. The flavor starts off with lots of oak, sharp alcohol and underlying toasted toffee. The finish just adds more burn. An interesting quad, but not one I’d want with any kind of regularity. I did like this better than their regular quad though. radagast83 (1315), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 27, 2007 For being a pretty strong beer, I didn’t notice it as much (perhaps it was the complex taste and the small, but steady sips I made of this one. About halfway though the bottle I realized it was based on QUAD, a beer that I personally didn’t care for in the least (could have been a bum batch or something). drewbeerme (2306), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 23, 2007 12oz bottle, aged 6-12months vs. Weyerbacher Quad, aged 6-12months. pours slight darker than Quad, a deep red with small off white head. nose has lots of vanilla, subtle bourbon, and slight fruity peach and plums, along with some spice to it. flavor is warming sweet vanilla and alcohol, with hints of bourbon, toffee, and plums. a sweet and fizzy alcoholy finish that warms the throat. the alcohol and vanilla is just too much. syrupy and fizzy mouth feel. i wasn’t that into this beer at first but after it warmed up a bit and several sips, it became quite tasty. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 3, 2007 Bottle. [Courtesy of Myrup / Papsoe, quality tasting @ Papsoe] Average creamy off-white and lasting head. Quit nice lacework. Cloudy amber color. The aroma was quit complex with a bit more hoppy feel then the Belgium take on a Quardrupel. Flowers, grapefruit, caramel, grain, toffee, raisin, prune, peach, wood and vanilla. Very full bodied with an alcoholic, somewhat thick texture and a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet and bitter flavor. Lingering wood and vanilla light bitter finish. 28-09-2007
