Commercial Description:
Blasphemy is our award winning QUAD aged in bourbon barrels. But not overaged, so we've picked up gentle vanilla oaky notes which complement rather than supercede the complex qualities that already make QUAD such an incredible beer.

Bomber. Pours hazy copper with beige head. The aroma has some bananas and sweetness with distinctive notes of vanilla and bourbon. The flavor is bourbon, caramel, banana, vanilla, and some very tart zesty notes. Gets sweet in the finish; lots of vanilla and caramel. Alcohol warmth rounds it out in the finish. Pretty good, but a bit overdone.

Pours a copper color with unremarkable head. Big, I can smell it across the room, aroma of sweetness, alcohol, some cleaning agents, alcohol and hints of caramel. Not so good from the nose stand point. The flavor is sweet caramel, alcohol burn, toxic liquid cleaning detergent, vanilla, fortified flavors, coca cola and more alcohol. This beer is a mess.

One of the better offerings from Weyerbacher in my opinion. It’s been a while since I’ve had their quad, so I can’t offer a direct comparison. But I’m one of those folks - rare on RB, it seems - who like the distinctive quality of their barrel aging. I grant that it’s a bit overly sweet and syrupy, and the vanilla comes on too strong in something like Heresy. But I think it really works for their rich quad, with raisin and bourbon flavors to the fore. A bit too thin, perhaps, but I like this one.

750 mL. Darkish and clear copper color with a small head. Aroma of cherry-raisin wine. Tastes of dry sherry, cherry wine, and a touch of wood. Medium-bodied and smooth, with some alcohol warmth on the finish.

Bottle... O-Town Throwdown Part Deux... Clear amber ale with a small, white head. Notes of sourmash, caramel and vanilla whirl their way out of the glass and up into my brain. Intoxicating! Boozy, malty flavor with chunks of toffee and medium bourbon followed by hop and alcohol bitterness. Full-bodied and fizzy. Boozy, dry finish.

This beer was brought by Daniel to share, thank man. Pours out a reddish hint to it with a white head, almost looked like a rose wine. Smell is some oak, bourbon, sticky dark sugar, and a hint of cinnamon maybe. Taste is pretty ballsy as the alcohol isn’t hidden in the slightest. It mixes to become a sweet, spicy, bourbon alcohol bomb. I’m not a big fan of any of Weyerbacher’s stuff and this is yet another to add on to the list. This brewery is very overrated in my opinion.

22 oz. bottle. Pours an almost clear reddish amber with a moderate linen white head that lasted until about mid-glass. Very pleasant aroma of caramel, raisins, and a bit of bourbon and vanilla. The flavor was equally enjoyable with caramel, raisins, dates, oak, bourbon and vanilla all present. Smooth and full-bodied. The alcohol, at 11.8%, is present but not overwhleming. Very enjoyable.

Thanks Daniel for bringing this one over. I was hesitant to drink it all night long because the idea of a BA quad did not appeal to me too much. This one is quite different than I was anticipating. Pours is a bright red color with no head on it. Smell has some notes of bourbon, sweet sugars, molasses, some vanilla. The taste is pretty strong, riddled with alcohol, though I cannot detect near the sweetness level of the regular Quad, which I find odd. Smooth and easy to drink. The alcohol content is noticed only because it burns going down. It is good stuff, not sure I could down a 22 oz of this, but its certainly good to split amongst friends.
