| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 6, 2007 Bottle; poured a shade of amber with off white head. Aroma of bubblegum, alcohol, fruit and caramel. Flavor was sweet, probably over sweet for many. I liked it though. Alcohol was a little too aggressive for my liking. Flavor blend caramel, fruit, what I would call bubblegum, yeast, with a barrel aged backbone. I might be overly inflating this one since it was barrel aged, so minus .2 on the kleyland scale adjustor. alexsdad06 (1125), Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2007 Bottle shared by Tmoney99 @ the Dilly Deli the night of a dissapointing Dogfish Head tasting. Thanks Tom. Pours a clear copper color with a healthy mostly lasting white head. The aroma is sweet fruits with a little spice. The wood comes in a little later with an alcohol burn. The flavor is taken over a bit by the bourbon especially as it warms. Other flavors are fruit and spices with a definite alcohol presence. Not bad, I wish there was a little more balance as it warmed. anders37 (4796), Malmö, Sweden

Sweet woody caramel aroma. Clear, orange red body with a creamy bubbly head. Sweet and boozy flavour with round barrel wood and strawberry licorice characteristics. Medium-full body. Overdone with sweet alcohol -- bourbon barrel beers are just Not my cuppa tea. cbkschubert (2027), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 26, 2007 12 oz. bottle via trade with jasonmech77 - Pours a hazy deep amber color with a 1/2 finger thick off white head that settled to a film after a few minutes. Very light spotty lacing. Aroma is oak, esters, and spice. Flavor is esters, light yeast, spice, light malt, and oak/bourbon. Medium body. A fairly smooth beer. Alcohol is noticeable, but doesn’t upset my stomach like some high ABV beers do. A very nice sipping beer. Thanks Jason. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 26, 2007 22oz bottle. Aroma: Oak jumps right out with a wood and vanilla notes. Candi sugar, spice and yeast, light apple and raisin notes. Alcohol comes out a bit hot. Appearance: Pours a reddish amber in color reminiscent of iced tea. Hazy with some floaties. Bone colored head was full and foamy, but didn’t last long. Fair lacing. Flavor: OAK! Woody and vanilla with some light nutty notes. Strong alcohol presence. Candi sugar, light fruitiness, spice and yeast. Medium dry finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium-high carbonation. Strong alcohol burn in back of mouth. Overall: Kind of a mess. Oak is too strong, alcohol is hot, and all the other flavors pale in comparison. Not good. jrob21 (1279), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2007 The oak overpowers the subtlety of the rest of of this beer. Alcohol is prett prevalent as well. Aromas of slight alcohol and faint yeast. Sweetness that sticks with you. The oak aging comes in the flavors. Gives a normally subtle beer some heft and body. The finish is very alcoholic. Pours a clear red color with lots of bubbles and an offwhite head. Not my favorite but a good effort from these guys.
