| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2007 i really liked this one, very sweet candi malty taste, has some alcohol presence, little bit of the bourbon presence, but not a whole lot. Braudog (3774), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 22, 2007 Big ol’ bomber ... poured a nice sweet tea-colored reddish umber with just a thin top. The aroma is candied and sweet, but unique ... like a wicked Jolly Rancer or something. That crazy sweet thing is carried into the flavor; I can’t quite peg it ... strawberry candy, maybe? Light bourbon. Warming, but not anywhere near as strong as you’d think from a 11.8% beer. Dangerous. (#2986, 6/22/2007) jimhilt (1689), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 22, 2007 Pours a one-finger white head that fades quickly leaving no lace. Clear copper amber color. alcohol and oak nose. Light-medium carbonation and heavy bodied. Flavor is sweet, alcohol, woody actually complex. Clean finish. Very warming. $8.00 for a 22oz bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me. mcox90 (651), Wilton, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 22, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a golden reddish hue. Almost no head at all( I must be the gentlest pourer in the world). This tastes like Dog Fish Head Immortale. The first few sips taste like medicine(chloreseptic cough medicine). The alcohol burn is overwhelming. I know its 11.8 abv., but I didn’t expect to get hit over the head with it. I loved some earlier brews from this brewer(picked up in trade), but this is not one I want again. dwyerpg (2545), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 21, 2007 The aroma has some okay creaminess and spices but mostly it’s just alcohol. Here I am, it screams! Also, the flavor screams the same. Not getting much bourbon notes, it’s almost giving me a headache. It may be blasphemy that he put his quad in bourbon barrels, but really, he probably shouldn’t’ve. Kinz (2215), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 15, 2007 Medium clear amber, slight fizziness in the carbonation, but still held a good head. Aroma of cherries, a bit of wood, and clear alcohol. Flavor had more dark cherry notes, wood, faint bourbon, and almost overpowering alcohol fusel burn. Once it hit room temperature, a touch of vanilla and caramel emerged. Not my favorite from a brewer I generally love. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2007 Pours a slightly hazed red with a good head. The aroma first jumps out as bourbon, but as it warms, the interplay of aromatic components starts to masquerade as pineapple and coconut, making this a very tropical seeming beer. There is a good bit of heat in the back of this and a lingering light sweetness. egajdzis (3636), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2007 Poured a caramel color with a medium sized, off white head, that left light, sticky, lacing to the side of the glass. Aroma of dried fruits, toffee, vanilla, raisins, gingerbread, caramel, and strong alcohol. Taste of raisins, char, citrus fruits, bourbon, caramel, vanilla, dry, oak, and more alcohol. I think this Weyerbacher would age pretty well.
