Commercial Description:
Blasphemy is our award winning QUAD aged in bourbon barrels. But not overaged, so we've picked up gentle vanilla oaky notes which complement rather than supercede the complex qualities that already make QUAD such an incredible beer.

Bottle shared with blankboy, mds, jerc & mabel - courtesy of mds. Bright amber with a wispy head. Aroma of booze and bubblegum, with a faint spiciness. Flavour is overpoweringly sweet, woody, boozy - just really unbalanced and unappealing. And the label sucks, too.

Bottle. Deep copper pour. Small foamy tan head. Aroma is very fruity (bananas, pears), with candi sugar, bourbon, vanilla, and soft wood. Very appetizing! Taste brings a lot of the bourbon notes forward. Sweet malts, vanilla, soft wood, bourbon, candied fruits, and sugar. Body is sticky and syrupy with soft carbonation. Medium-full overall. Mild alcohol warmth to this one as well. Finishes with more candi sugar, ripened fruits, sweet malts, vanilla, and bourbon. I rather enjoyed this!

Bottle from Canals. Pours a coppery color with thin tan head. Big time fruity aroma with a hint of caramel malt. Big alcohol taste up front with a hint of fruit. This was good but if they blended the alcohol a little better it would have rocked.

Bottle. Puny, off-white, fizzy head that leads into clear somewhat sparkling reddish-orange hued body. Aromas of dark fruits, bananas, candied sugar, and bourbon. Flavor is sweet and finishes very dry (almost dissapears at end)-but bourbon flavor lingers a long time. Alcohol is very apparent in the burn. Light bodied. Lively carbonation. Very dry textured. I have to agree with those who would probably prefer this one without the bourbon barrel.************ Okay I decided to finish the glass before I add the rating and I am glad I did. I must say the burning is always present but it diminishes in severity and actually seems to blend with the rest of the flavors, letting the flavor show better. So if you are just trying this one, give it some time, it will get better.

Bottle (650ml) shared with GregClow, mds, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of mds. Pours a clear amber-orange with an average size diminishing off-white head. Very sweet aroma, sugary, with oak and spices. Flavour’s incredibly sugary sweet, boozy and bitter along with some oak and notes of fruit and spices. Medium bodied. Too sweet for my liking. Why do these guys keep ruining perfectly good beer by barrel-aging them, they’re rarely better?

Bootled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear reddish brown with a minimal head. Sweet malty aroma and yeasty aroma of figs, banana, cream, milky chocolate and oak.Full bodied with a malty flavour of fudge, banana, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak and alcohol. Long finish of chocolate, nuts, anise, banana, pepper, vanilla and alcohol. As it warms up, almost tart oaky notes shines through.

Draught: Aroma of bourbon and alcohol. Poured amber in color. Good lacing. Lightly sparkling. Clear. Flavor of bourbon and alcohol. Light to medium body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Bourbon and alcohol finish. For me, too much Bourbon.
