Commercial Description:
Blasphemy is our award winning QUAD aged in bourbon barrels. But not overaged, so we've picked up gentle vanilla oaky notes which complement rather than supercede the complex qualities that already make QUAD such an incredible beer.

Ridiculously strong beer. It has some fruit notes, but with the overwhelming amount of sweetness (and all the alcohol), it becomes hard to distinguish between the flavors. Maybe I’m just not a "quad guy", but I really didn’t enjoy this beer as much as I expected to.

Bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm, vintage 2007
Hazy color, red to dark amber, with a medium sized creamy head. The aroma can be perceived already while pouring the glass; there is some malt, caramel, delicate oak and light glue. The body is well structured, there is a strong malt flavor and, either the age or the barrel, it seems to be quite oxidized; medium sweet; there is some light vanilla flavor too, and a touch of light liquorice. The final is balanced, the bitterness is respectable, and the alcohol starts warming the throat. It’s a good, solid beer, but I would not drink it too often and it’s missing some exciting edges.
Suggestion: even if I like my beers with low carbonation, this sturdy beer is better appreciated with a slightly higher level of carbonation.

Pretty interesting aroma of oak, dark fruits, spice, banana, bourbon, carmelized sugar. hazy brown orange with no head or lacing, some yeast sediment. Flavors of carmelized sugar, banana, spice, ripe fruits, bourbon/oak. Some warming boozey notes in the finish. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle, courtesy kiefdog. Copper pour, filmy head and lacing. Big heat in the nose, dark fruit and just quite boozy, with little else. Fruit in the flavor, banana, mellow compared to the nose but still lackluster. Very smooth, hot but doesn’t burn the mouth as much as the nostrils.

Thanks kiefdog for the share. Pours an amber/ copper color with an off-white head. Nose is phenol burn, bigtime, with some ripe fruit, but big booziness. Smells like boozy nail polish remover. Flavor is much better. Flavor is malt, light fruit, alcohol burn, some sugary vanilla and medicinal notes. Very good, once one get past the aroma.

Poured from a bomber bottle into a trappist glass for drinking. The beer was a cloudy, dull, brown-copper color with a smaller, bubbly white head that was very short lived and had practically no cling. Aroma is a complex mixture of floral and dark fruity tones with the oak barrel scent present; also a bit of vanilla and caramel. The taste is a medley of sweet and bitter flavors, featuring a fruity cherry character and a touch of sourness too. Slightly thinner, wet body with a lot of cling and stickyness on the palate. A dry, biting finish with a somewhat noticeable presence of alcohol.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy, copper color with a thin tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma is of dark fruits and spices with a definite oak-bourbon character. Flavor is of sweet malts, cherries, cloves and bourbon. Finishes dry and peppery. Quite warming. Full bodied. Would like to try this brew again with some age.

12oz thats been in the cellar for sometime, more than likely from trade. Pours orange with not much of a head. Nose is sweet and woody. Taste is sweet with clear cut vanilla and bourbon qualities. Tasty brew, not much of a quad though.
