Pours orange with not much of a head. Nose is sweet and woody. Taste is sweet with clear cut vanilla and bourbon qualities. Tasty brew, not much of a quad though. willblake (2187), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

I recall not enjoying this beer when it came out - it was extremely hot and sweet, shockingly - but it had some merit to be worth socking away for a while, I guess. Now I’m just glad I checked to see if I had ever entered notes because I had not. So, the beer. Dark and hazy amber, small ring of foam. Aromas of apple butter, vanilla, golden raisins, sweet malts, cherry. It’s got a nice balance of yeast and wood, neither over the top. The alcohol has leveled out nicely to a pleasant heat. The body is full and coating. Sweetness is foiled by yeasty spice (clove) and peppery alcohol. And, I will be damned, this stuff is pretty good. Well, that was unexpected. Very strong Belgian style beer flavor with bourbon notes in the background. Wonderful beer. I wouldn’t drink more than one in a sitting though. taffurs888 (121), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Nose is nice and dried fruit, sugars, and subtle oak influence. The flavor is much more forward, with caramel, dried fruit, toffee and lightest touch of vanilla. Smooth on the palate and a bit hot in the finish, which also hosts a nice vanilla influence. IMO, highly underrated. wilkie (1191), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
