Commercial Description:
Blasphemy is our award winning QUAD aged in bourbon barrels. But not overaged, so we've picked up gentle vanilla oaky notes which complement rather than supercede the complex qualities that already make QUAD such an incredible beer.

Bottle, purchased in Surf City, NC, opened at Fancy Beer II in Columbus. It’s a combination that I thought wouldn’t work, but damn it tastes good. The barrel aging complements the strength of the quad.

Pours a redish golden color with a head that disapates quickly. Aroma of bourbon, caramel, dark fruit. Taste of caramel, sweet, hint of bourbon. This is very intresting.

Raspberry, bourbon, alcohol, oak aroma. Reddish orange with a thin head with swirls in the middle, bubbly on the outside, little lacing. Effervescent bubbliness, warming alcohol feel like whiskey in the mouth, a bit candyish, but fades out quick after the alcohol taste. Not bad, a bit overdone with the bourbon overpowering the quad subtelty.

Bottle from VA. Clear red amber with a fizzy tan head. Big bourbon, vanilla, caramel, and oak aroma and taste with a warming alcoholic taste. Excellent.

Shared by toncatcher. Thanks Dennis. Very good BA quad. Love the style, love that the BA made the quad better.

Bottle from kmweaver on 8/16/08. Thanks Ken! Tried at PP bottle shop with Sean. Amber color. Big alcohol nose and burn in the taste. The burn settles down quickly, as it seemed to be much stronger when the bottle is opened (i.e let it breathe before drinking). Sweetish. Medium drinkability. Oaky aroma initially but fades to maltiness. Low bitterness.

Bomber poured a clear copper with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of bourbon, oak, vanilla, toffee, fruittiness and light carmel. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bourbon, oak, vanilla, toffee and light fruittiness with a smooth lingering lightly sweet finish.

Kinda disapointed in this one, not as good as Insanity or Heresy.

22 oz bottle poured into a trappist glass has a red amber color with a thin off white head that fell quickly. there is some visible sediment. aroma has sweet ripened banana yeast, dark fruit, candy sugar, vanilla, and has mellowed a bit from the barrel aging cutting back on the booze. mouth feel is medium thick with some coating and lighter carbonation. flavor has dark dried fruit, caramel malt, yeasty banana, spices, and oak. alcohol picks up quickly against a thick sweet malted base and the wood mellows it all out a bit. better than the quad but still way to hot.
