Commercial Description:
Blasphemy is our award winning QUAD aged in bourbon barrels. But not overaged, so we've picked up gentle vanilla oaky notes which complement rather than supercede the complex qualities that already make QUAD such an incredible beer.

Tasted somewhere along my trip through the States.
Amber/copper colored brew. Very fruity and bourbon flavored. It’s too sweet for me.

Bottle: Courtesy of Jason...thanks man! Dark copper color with a shimmering cream head. Nose has hints of dark, toasted malts, tart cherries, vanilla and oak. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Dark, bready malts, dark and lightly tart fruits present along with the vanilla and oak. The alcohol does indeed make its presence felt but not in too much of a detracting way.

220z bomber thanks to OldStyleCubFan. Interesting Quad! Poured clear copper with a large off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Heavy complex caramel, bourbon and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture. Heavy balanced bourbon flavor with a medium bittersweet and small alcohol burn finish of moderate duration.

bourbon, caramel, and root beer aroma. lightly hazy amber under a small off-white head. flavor is very much like bourbon. vanilla, caramel, butter, peachy/pear fruits also show. quite boozy. too much oaky wood presence. almost dominates everything to the point where i don’t notice there’s a beer in there!

12oz bottle. Heavy candied fruity sweetness initially greets the nose. Candied figs and raisins. A touch of some ginger. Bubblegum. Rotting bananas. Vanilla extract. Just a whole lot of sweetness. Pours a decent looking dark copper with some lighter amber highlights when held up to the light. A thin brownish gray film tops off the beer. Absolutely confounding flavor. It manages to be cloyingly sweet and and have a dry iron/tin/copper-ness to it at the same time. Hot, boozy and unrefined. Alcohol soaked raisins, ginger, vanilla extract... Candied malt and plenty of sugar. Very little barrel presence. Very little resemblance to a Quad. Thick and cloying body with more copper and booze on the finish. Thanks Jesse!

draft @ blind tiger - served in goblet; orange-brown with very slight head; thin texture with no carbonation; aromas of sweet malts and dank fruit; sugar and vanilla too; texture is of thin syrup and quite delicious; lots of candy sugar and fruit flavors; oak comes out more in the nose, but this was a very tasty brew; improved from the regular mainly b/c the sweetness is a little smoother

12 oz bottle, cellared over a year. Lightly clouded brown with a thin ring of foam. Nose is vanilla, cognac and banana. Body is a tad thinner than the Quad but alcohol feel is much stronger. I’m surprised at how different this is with the barrel aging. Taste is not as sweet and a little more complex with toffee, oak, bitter currants and alcohol. Overall I prefer the regular version.
